Day 1(Saturday) – Arrive in Vancouver, B.C. to board Holland America Cruise Lines’ ms Zuiderdam: Tour members who have purchased their airline tickets from YMT Vacations, please meet your YMT representative in the baggage claim area for meet and greet services and your transfers to the Canada Place pier. Embarkation for your Holland America Line ship commences at 1:00 PM. Sail from Vancouver at 5:00 PM. Dinner is included aboard ship.
Day 2(Sunday) – Scenic Inside Passage Cruising: Cruise along the west coast of Vancouver Island and the Alaska Inside Passage. The ship’s daily program outlines a wide variety of shipboard activities. All this while you’re gliding along in the lap of luxury aboard Holland America Line. All meals aboard the ship are included.
Day 3(Monday) – Juneau port of Call: Cruise to Tracy Arm and Sawyer Glaciers in the morning, and then stop in Juneau, the capital city of the state of Alaska, from 2:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Interesting sights abound in the historic downtown area, the state capital campus, the Alaska State Museum, Mendenhall Glacier and the Mt. Roberts tram. Optional tours are available.
Day 4(Tuesday) – Skagway City Tour: Breakfast is included aboard ship. Arrive at the gold rush era town of Skagway at 7:00 AM. Disembark about 8:15 AM for a Skagway city historical tour (duration about two hours) and transfer to your hotel. Learn about Skagway’s frontier history and the rise and fall of the notorious outlaw Soapy Smith. The remainder of the day is at leisure for independent exploration of local shops and museums. Overnight accommodations are included at the Skagway Westmark Inn.
Day 5(Wednesday) – Skagway to Whitehorse via White Pass and Yukon Route Rail: Depart Skagway at 8:00 AM aboard the historic White Pass and Yukon Route railroad. Travel aboard a restored parlor car on a 28-mile excursion ascending White Pass to the summit and the rail stop at Fraser. Continue along the shores of Lake Bennet to the Chilkoot Trail site for lunch and interpretation by Park Canada. Then board a waiting deluxe motor coach to continue travel to Whitehorse along the Klondike Highway. Arrive in Whitehorse, capital of the Yukon Territory, about 5:30 PM. The Frantic Follies Vaudeville Revue show is included this evening (show times vary.) Overnight accommodations are included at the Westmark Whitehorse Hotel.
Day 6(Thursday) – Whitehorse to Dawson City: Leave Whitehorse at 8:00 AM traveling the Klondike Highway aboard a your Explorer Coach to Dawson City. See views of Lake Laberge and the Yukon River. Lunch is included at Minto. Arrive in historical Dawson City about 4:30 PM. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight accommodations are included at the Westmark Inn. Optional evening entertainment is available at Diamond Tooth Gertie’s gambling hall or the Gaslight Follies show at the Palace Grande Theatre.
Day 7(Friday) – Dawson City Tour: The day is at leisure at Dawson. A variety of optional excursions are available in Dawson or to Tombstone Territorial Park. Tombstone offers incredible vistas of rugged mountains and sub-arctic tundra with a variety of hiking opportunities. Overnight for a second night in Dawson City.
Day 8(Saturday) – Dawson City to Tok: Transfer this morning from your hotel to the day cruise vessel mv Yukon Queen ll. Depart at 9:00 AM and cruise down the mighty Yukon River. See sights including a sternwheeler graveyard, miner’s cabins and the abandoned town of Fortymile. Arrive at the Alaskan village of Eagle about 11:00 AM (note 1 hour time change). A hot meal is included aboard the boat. After a short tour of Eagle, depart aboard a deluxe motor coach and travel the Taylor Highway to the town of Tok, Alaska. Arrive at Tok about 6:00 PM. Overnight accommodations are included at the Tok Westmark Inn.
Day 9(Sunday) – Tok to Fairbanks: Depart from Tok at 8:00 AM continuing motor coach travel to Fairbanks along the famed Alaska Highway. You will arrive in Fairbanks about 1:00 PM. Visit the gold camp at historic Gold Dredge No. 8. A hearty “miner’s lunch” is included at the gold camp dining hall. Then tour the gold camp to view gold mining exhibits, walk aboard the gold dredge and pan for gold. Transfer to your hotel and view the TransAlaska Pipeline and sights of Fairbanks en route. Overnight accommodations are included in Fairbanks. The primary hotel used is the Westmark Fairbank’s Hotel.
Day 10(Monday) – Fairbanks to Denali via Tundra Wilderness park Tour: A motor coach transfer is provided from the hotel to the Alaska railroad depot in Fairbanks. You will then board the McKinley Explorer dome car. The train departs at 8:15 AM to Denali National Park. Arrival time at Denali National Park is approximately 12:00 Noon. A bus transfer is provided to the hotel. An afternoon departure of the Denali Park Tundra Wilderness tour by bus is included along with a snack lunch. Tour duration is approximately 6-7 hours. The tour is narrated by a driver-guide. The tour travels to mile 53 of the park road and offers opportunities to view wildlife which may include caribou, Dall sheep, moose, grizzly bear and wolves. A viewpoint offers a view of Mt. McKinley (weather permitting.) Tour departure times vary. Return to your hotel. Overnight accommodations are included at the McKinley Chalet Resort or McKinley Village.
Day 11(Tuesday) – Denali Park Leisure Day: The day is at leisure at Denali Park. A variety of optional activities are available: Park Service programs, the park shuttle bus service, fixed-wing and helicopter flightseeing, river rafting, the Alaska Cabin Nite dinner show and more. Additional cost are the responsibility of the guest. Overnight accommodations are included for a second night at Denali.
Day 12(Wednesday) – Denali Park to Anchorage: The morning is at leisure at Denali Park. Transfer about 11:30 AM to the train station. You will then board the McKinley Explorer dome car and depart at 12:15 PM to Anchorage, with scenic views of the Alaskan countryside. Optional lunch and dinner are available in the dining room aboard your McKinley Explorer rail car. Arrive in Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, about 8:15 PM. Transfer to your hotel where overnight accommodations are included. The primary hotel used is the Hilton Anchorage.
Day 13(Thursday) – Depart for Home: The tour ends this morning with a motor coach transfer to the Anchorage International Airport.
