Day 1(Sunday) - Depart the US for Egypt: Relax on your scheduled overnight air flight.
Day 2(Monday) - Arrive in Cairo: Your Egypt adventure begins as you arrive in this ancient city. After customs and immigration, your representatives will meet and greet you, assist with your luggage and transfer you to your hotel in Cairo. There will be a welcome briefing this evening, and dinner on your own. Overnight: Safir Hotel Cairo (or similar accommodations)
Day 3(Tuesday) – Cairo and All Day Tour to Giza: Today, you will have a full day excursion with lunch, visiting the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. You will drive around the Pyramid of Chephren, the Pyramid of Cheops (also known as the Great Pyramid or Khufu), and the Pyramid of Mykerinos. You will have time to walk around Cheops and take pictures. Then visit the Sphinx, the colossal one-piece, sandstone, man-headed, lion-bodied statue. Continue to Memphis, the capital of Old Kingdom; and then Sakkara, to visit the Step Pyramid, the first monumental stone structure in Ancient Egypt. Evening flight from Cairo to the ancient city of Aswan after dinner at the Iberotel Cairo Hotel. (B, L, D) Overnight: Iberotel Aswan Hotel (or similar accommodations)
Day 4(Wednesday) – Aswan Optional Tour to Abu Simbel: This morning, relax in this colorful village along the Nile, or you may take the optional excursion to Abu Simbel (by motor coach), considered to be one of the most impressive sites in Egypt. Here you will visit the two temples built by Ramses II as a high-architect before he became a Pharaoh. The 100-foot high Great Temple is world famous, which features 4 statues of Ramses II and his wife Queen Nefertari, each 65 feet high. Both originally carved out of the mountainside, this temple and the adjacent temple dedicated to Queen Nefertari, were raised 65 feet to save them from flood caused by the construction of the High Dam in 1965. This afternoon, visit the island Temple of Philae, a sacred temple complex dedicated to the Goddess Isis, before boarding the ms Jaz Jubilee in time for lunch and to begin your memorable 4-day Nile Cruise. Day 5(Thursday) - Aswan / Kom Ombo / Edfu / Esna (Cruise): Today, after breakfast visit Kom Ombo and explore the temples. Then, continue sailing to Edfu to visit the temples of Isis and Osiris. In the afternoon, we will cross the locks on the Nile in Esna with a fun and small scale canal crossing. Lunch and dinner onboard the cruise boat. This evening continue to sail north to Luxor. Day 6(Friday) - Luxor (Cruise) / West Bank / Thebes Valley of Kings/Queens: Today you will visit the West Bank, steeped in biblical history and containing many sites of religious and archaeological significance. Named the West Bank because it lies on the western bank of the Nile River. Next, discover the old capital of Egypt, Thebes, also on the West bank of the Nile. This is where most of the ruins and tombs have been found. The Valley of the Kings/Queens is an Egyptian archaeological locality in the hills directly behind the West Bank of Luxor. As such, it is one of the most remarkable archaeological destinations in the world: the burial place of the majority of Egyptian pharaohs. (B, L, D) Overnight onboard the ms Jaz Jubilee
Day 7(Saturday) – Luxor, Karnak Temples plus Hurghada Beach Front Resort: Today you will visit the Karnak area, which contains a vast conglomerate of ruined temples, chapels and other buildings of various dates. The temples of Karnak were built, enlarged, torn down, added to, and restored for more than 2000 years. This afternoon after checking out from your cruise boat, you will travel to the beach front resort area of Hurgahda. Hurgahda was founded in the early 20th century, and since the 1980’s has been continually enlarged to become the leading seashore resort on the Red Sea. (B, L, D) Overnight: King Tut Resort (or similar accommodations)
Day 8(Sunday) – Hurghada Leisure Day or Optional Tour: Today you may relax by the Red Sea or continue with the organized optional tour of underwater reef exploration. (B, D) Overnight: Iberotel Aquamarine Resort (or similar accommodations).
Day 9(Monday) – Return to Cairo. City Tour and Egyptian Museum: Transfer to the airport for return flight to Cairo (60 minute flight). Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will visit the famous Egyptian Museum where archaeological pieces dating as far back as 3000 BC are in exhibit. You will see the famous treasure of King Tut-ank-amon. (B) Overnight: Safir Hotel Cairo (or similar accommodations).
Day 10(Tuesday) - Depart for Home from Cairo: Transfer to Cairo airport for flight back home to the US. (B)
