Day 1(Wednesday, December 29, 2010) – Arrive in Los Angeles, CA: Your fantastic Rose Parade adventure begins as you soar through the skies to sunny Southern California via your regularly scheduled airline. Tour guests who have purchased their airline arrangements with YMT Vacations, please meet your YMT representative in baggage claims for meet and greet services and the transfers to hotel. Enjoy the evening on your own, or experience flying angels, a creative blend of carols and special effects at the Glory of Christmas optional tour at the Crystal Cathedral.
Day 2(Thursday, December 30, 2010) – Los Angeles City Tour and Exclusive Evening Float Viewing: Today, you’ll experience a city tour of Los Angeles and Hollywood, giving you a glimpse into the many of activities, cultures, and sites within the “City of Angels.” Along the way, view the Los Angeles downtown business district, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, as well as the theatre district. Head into Hollywood and see Mann’s Chinese Theatre–famous for its permanent collection of handprints, footprints, and signatures from a multitude of movie stars, including Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe–as well as the Academy Awards’ home, the Kodak Theatre, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Then, head into Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive to see where the stars shop and dine before traveling to neighboring Century City, the business mecca of the entertainment industry and home of 20th Century Fox studios. In the evening, you will have a unique, one-of-a-kind glimpse into the world of float building at an exclusive float viewing at the Pasadena Rose Bowl Pavillion. The evening starts in YMT’s own VIP tent with a presentation of the history of the Rose Parade, given by a knowledgeable Tournament of Roses staff member. After the presentation is completed, you’ll have a private and exclusive chance to see the floats up close and enjoy all the details that went into making these magnificent pieces of art–an opportunity almost as exciting as the Tournament of Roses Parade, itself!
Day 3(Friday, December 31, 2010) – Leisure Day or Optional Tour to J. Paul Getty Museum and Reagan Library: Today is yours to enjoy as you wish, and Los Angeles offers you no shortage of sights and activities from which to choose! If you wish, you may decide to join an optional tour to the Getty Museum and Reagan Library. In the morning, you’ll witness the amazing architectural delights and fine artistry of The Getty Center with a self-guided audio tour. Created by architect Richard Meier, the modernist Getty was designed as a way to highlight both the culture within the buildings as well as the natural beauty surrounding it. Whether it’s the 16,000 tons of travertine stone used in the architectural design, the beautiful Central Garden filled with over 500 different plants, or the spectacular view from the hillside, you’re sure to remember the extraordinary Getty! After, you’ll head to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, home to over 50 million pages of presidential papers. After opening its doors in 1991, over one million visitors have traveled to the Reagan Library for an interesting glimpse into the 40th President’s life through documents, photographs, videos, and artifacts from his years spent in the White House.
Day 4(Saturday, January 1, 2011) – The 122nd Rose Parade: There’s nothing like viewing this parade in person. Watch in wonder from your reserved grandstand seats as the floats, spectacularly decorated with millions of colorful flowers and ornaments, pass by. Listen to marching bands as they high step down Colorado Boulevard, playing show tunes, college fight songs and holiday themed music. It’s an overall thrilling spectacle!
Day 5(Sunday, January 2, 2011) – Depart for Home: Say farewell to new-found friends, take your memories and souvenirs of your Rose Parade and Los Angeles Tour, and depart Los Angeles for home.
