Day 3(Sunday) – Kahului, Maui (8:00 AM & Overnight): Get ready to enjoy Maui! Maui is the second largest of the Hawaiian Islands and you will have almost 2 full days to explore! The cruise stops at Maui’s largest town, Kahului, which means “The Winning,” and offers visitors beautiful sea vistas. Known as the “Valley Isle,” this majestic island has three main peaks more than a mile high, thousands of breathtakingly beautiful waterfalls and pools, 120 miles of shoreline and more than 80 golden beaches. Optional shore excursions will allow you to explore the island such as The Best of Maui Tour. On this tour you will visit three of the most popular destinations in Maui, Iao Valley, Haleakala Crater and Lahaina, a traditional old whaling town, full of character and delightful shops and restaurants. Day 4(Monday) – Kahului, Maui (Overnight - 6:00 PM): After the overnight stay in Maui, another great option is the Road to Hana. Experience the natural and beautiful side of Maui as you drive along the gorgeous coastal roads! Day 5(Tuesday) – Hilo, Hawaii (8:00 AM-6:00 PM) Brimming with Hawaiian tradition, Hilo takes you back to an earlier island culture. The town will charm you with its quaint buildings and unique shopping. Hilo is the flower capital of Hawaii, and gardens and blossoms are everywhere. This is truly a special day – take the optional Volcano Spectacular and Hilo Waterfalls shore excursion and you will ascend the rugged countryside to Volcanoes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will see a real, smoking and steaming volcano as you look out across the Kilauea Caldera, within which lies the Halemaumau Crater. Next you’ll make a short stop to take a walk through Thurston’s Lava Tube and before we leave the park there is the chance to view the expansive Kilauea Crater and its steam vents. Additionally, see the Rainbow Falls, Hilo Rainforest and Drive through Hilo along Banyan Drive. Day 6(Wednesday) – Kona, Hawaii (7:00 AM-6:00 PM): Welcome to Kona! In the Hawaiian language, kona means leeward or dry side of the island, as opposed to ko‘olau which means windward, or the wet side of the island, which would be Hilo. In Kona, you can spend your day exploring the “Gold Coast” in a wide variety of ways - riding in a horse-drawn carriage, skimming the seas in a glass bottom boat, snorkeling below the waves. If you prefer to keep your feet on dry land, you may choose to take a leisurely walking tour through historic Kailua Village or one of the many island coffee plantations. There are many choices in always sunny Kona, but make sure to indulge in a cup of Kona coffee somewhere along the way! Day 7(Thursday) – Nawiliwili, Kauai (Thu 8:00 AM / Overnight): This verdant little isle exudes peace and tranquility. Nature has been good to Kauai, creating craters, mountains, rivers, canyons and glorious stretches of palm-fringed beaches. Nicknamed the ‘Garden Island’ Kauai is the least populated and developed of the four main islands. This evening we offer what has been voted as ‘Hawaii’s best Luau’ (Hawaiian feast), a great way to experience some the sights sounds and tastes of Polynesian culture. Day 8(Friday) – Nawiliwili, Kauai and Cruise the Na Pali Coast (2:00 PM): The Na Pali coast, featured in the film Jurassic Park and many other movies, is one of the most distinctive geological features of Kauai. It consists of sheer cliffs thousands of feet high that drop directly onto pristine secluded beaches. Today, why not take an optional tour of the breathtaking Waimea Canyon, known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific (2,857-foot deep, 10 miles long and 1 mile wide), it will take your breath away. Day 9(Saturday) – Disembark from the cruise ship (7:00 AM): This morning you will go on the most popular tour in Hawaii - the included Pearl Harbor and Honolulu city tour. We head first to Pearl Harbor where we take a Navy launch out to the USS Arizona Memorial to pay tribute to the fallen heroes who lost their lives on December 7th 1941. You’ll have time to explore the visitor center, view the 23 minute film, relax in the park and see the USS Bowfin submarine before we head off to see the sights of Honolulu. Next, we take the H3 Highway, mile for mile, one of the most expensive highways ever built in the US, as we head to Pali lookout. From here there are stunning views overlooking the entire windward coastline of Oahu and once was the scene of the greatest battle victory by King Kamehameha. Set in a real dormant volcano, we visit Punchbowl Crater, home of the National Cemetery of the Pacific, before continuing onto downtown Honolulu. You will see the State Capitol and Iolani Palace, which you may recognize this as the Police HQ in the new Hawaii Five-0 TV show, but in reality was the residence of the last Queen of Hawaii, Liliuokalani at the end of the 19th century. Finally a drive through China Town, views of King Kamehameha’s statue and return to Waikiki. Overnight: Oahu, Ohana East Hotel, Waikiki or similar. Days 10-11(Sunday - Monday) - Honolulu Leisure Days: You’re back in Oahu and these days are yours to do as you wish. It’s here that we also visit the Jaggar Museum and visitor center to learn all about the geology and history of the volcano. Next you’ll make a short stop to take a walk through Thurston’s Lava Tube and before we leave the park there is the chance to view the expansive Kilauea Crater and its steam vents. Additionally, see the Rainbow Falls, Hilo Rainforest and Drive through Hilo along Banyan Drive Day 6(Wednesday) – Kona, Hawaii (7:00 AM-6:00 PM): Welcome to Kona! Day 8(Friday) – Nawiliwili, Kauai and Cruise Na Pali Coast (2:00 PM): The Na Pali coast, featured in the film Jurassic Park and many other movies, is one of the most distinctive geological features of Kauai. Day 9(Saturday) – Disembark and Honolulu City Tour (7:00 AM): This morning you will go on the most popular tour in Hawaii - the included Pearl Harbor and Honolulu city tour. Overnight: Oahu, Ohana East Hotel, Waikiki Days 10-11(Sunday - Monday) - Honolulu Leisure Days: You’re back in Oahu and these days are yours to do as you wish. Your Tour Director has arranged a variety of popular optional tours; From the world famous Society of Seven (SOS), to the spectacular illusions of Magic of Polynesia, to the diversity, history and tradition of the Polynesian Cultural Center, you have plenty of choice, daytime and evening. Whatever you do, you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the famous Waikiki beach and shopping on Kalakaua Avenue. Overnight: Oahu, Ohana East Hotel, Waikiki Day 12(Tuesday) - Depart For Home Transfer to Honolulu airport for your flight home and reflect on all the fabulous places you visited, memories captured and new friends you’ve made.
