What are the Travel Protection Plans YMT Vacations offers?
YMT Vacations offers two travel protection plans designed to provide guests with an easy, affordable way to protect their vacation investment. Although these plans are not insurance, they will cover losses for cancellation or interruption of a YMT vacation for any covered reason.

1. Tour Protection Plan (TPP)
In the event of a covered cancellation, the Tour Protection Plan (TPP) covers the tour and cruise portion (if applicable) of your trip - less the cost of the plan and any non-refundable deposits. Additionally, the TPP provides limited supplemental baggage protection.

2. Air Protection Plan (APP)
Guests who decide to book their airfare arrangements with YMT Vacations can purchase an additional Air Protection Plan in conjunction with the Tour Protection Plan which covers the air add-on cost - less the cost of the plan - against cancellation for a covered reason.

For your convenience, we will automatically display the cost of the plans on your Reservation Confirmation. Should you elect not to participate, simply deduct the TPP and APP (if applicable) amounts from your final payment and they will automatically be removed from your account.

We’re confident that if you compare these protection plans with similar ones available on the market, you’ll find YMT Vacations’ travel protection plans to be a great value. Choosing YMT Vacations’ Tour Protection Plan (TPP) and Air Protection Plan (APP) offers guests an easy way to secure their vacation investment against unforeseen cancellation.

What does the Tour Protection Plan (TPP) cover?
By purchasing TPP, you are protected if you are prevented from participating in all or part of the trip because of injuries, sickness, or the death of yourself or of an immediate family member. (Please note: the injury or sickness must be so disabling as to reasonably cause a traveler to delay, cancel or interrupt a trip).

Pre-Departure Cancellation: In the event of cancellation, the amount of non-refundable money paid by a covered member for participation on the trip, less the cost of the TPP and non-refundable deposits.

En Route Interruptions: The loss of any travel arrangements that were part of the trip.

Curtailment and Return: The amount of recoverable land or sea arrangements that were paid as part of the trip at the original price. Any additional costs incurred will be at the customer’s expense. Example: additional hotels, airfare, etc.

For all losses payable under the TPP, YMT Vacations will not pay more than the TPP limits. Payments for trip cancellation are limited to the amount paid. Limit for trip interruption is $1500.00 per covered guest.

YMT Vacations will not pay the benefits of the TPP for any loss because of:

  1. The treatment, services or care rendered by a physician, surgeon or trained nurse who is a member of the family of any covered family member; or
  2. Loss or damage caused by war, including undeclared war, civil war, insurrection, rebellion or revolution and warlike act by any government or military force or personnel; or
  3. Acts of God; or
  4. The loss caused by cancellation resulting in a single room supplement charge.

What is the supplemental luggage protection included with the Tour Protection Plan (TPP)?
Your coverage begins on the departure date and ends upon arrival at your home or 11:59 PM on the last scheduled day of the tour, whichever occurs first.

TPP Baggage Protection provisions do not cover the following:

  1. Loss or damage caused by wear and tear or deterioration;
  2. Loss or damage to property specifically insured under other insurance;
  3. Loss or damage to jewelry, watches or cameras/camera equipment; eyeglasses or contact lenses; artificial teeth and dental bridges; hearing aides; prosthetic limbs; money and securities; tickets and documents;
  4. Loss caused by or resulting from breakage of brittle or fragile articles; cameras, musical instruments, radios and similar properties, baggage wheels and wheel assembles; theft or pilferage while left unattended in any vehicle; mysterious disappearance;
  5. Loss or damage of goods purchased throughout the duration of the cruise/tour.

Any claim covered under this program will be adjusted and paid when you give us satisfactory proof of the loss or damage. Any claim for lost property covered under the TPP will be adjusted and paid when the property is not found after a reasonable time.

The coverage limit for luggage protection is $500.00 per plan. We will not pay more than the least of the following amounts:

(a) the actual cash value of the property with proper deduction for depreciation at the time of loss or damage;
(b) the amount for which the property could be restored to its condition prior to the damage;
(c) the amount for which the property could be replaced with property of like kind and quantity.

What does the Air Protection Plan (APP) cover?
The APP can only be purchased in conjunction with YMT Vacations’ TPP and cannot be purchased independently. By purchasing APP, the air add-on cost is protected in the event that a covered family member is prevented from participating in all or part of the trip because of injuries, sickness, or the death of an immediate family member. (Please note: the injury or sickness must be so disabling as to reasonably cause a traveler to delay, cancel or interrupt a trip).

If purchased, the APP protects the air add-on purchase against Pre-Departure Cancellation only. The amount of non-refundable money paid by a covered family member for the air add-on, less the cost of the APP, will be refundable. En Route Interruptions as well as Curtailment and Return are not covered by YMT Vacations’ APP.

For all losses payable under the APP, YMT Vacations will not pay more than the amount paid for the air add-on, less the cost of the APP plan.

YMT Vacations will not pay the benefits of the APP for any loss because of:

  1. The treatment, services or care rendered by a physician, surgeon or trained nurse who is a member of the family of any covered family member; or
  2. Loss or damage caused by war, including undeclared war, civil war, insurrection, rebellion or revolution and warlike act by any government or military force or personnel; or
  3. Acts of God.

How do I file a claim for my Tour Protection Plan, Supplemental Baggage Protection, and/or Air Protection Plan (if applicable)?
In the event that you must cancel part or all of your planned trip due to a covered reason after remitting payment in full - including the purchase of YMT Vacations’ TPP and APP (if applicable) - you must alert our Guest Services Department immediately. We must receive written notice of claim at our offices as soon as possible after any covered loss occurs or begins. Notice given by you should have enough information to let us identify the covered family member. Notification of cancellation within 48 hours or less of departure is considered a no show and no refund will be made.

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.

Once your request has been received, a Guest Services Representative will contact you regarding your cancellation and will mail all claims forms necessary to begin processing your request for reimbursement for any unused portions of your vacation. After completing and returning all forms, accompanied by all applicable doctors’ notes and supplemental information, your request will be evaluated and refund assigned according to TPP and APP guidelines. YMT Vacations’ requirements for refund entitlement can be met if we receive satisfactory written proof of the event and the type and extent of the loss.

We must receive written proof of loss within sixty (60) days after the date of loss. We will not accept proofs nor pay any benefits if proofs are sent more than sixty (60) days after we have received notice of claim, unless you lack capacity. To ensure accuracy of claims, please allow 6-8 weeks for refund requests to be processed.
