As we make our way to New Orleans this morning, we stop at Oak Alley Plantation. Built over 150 years ago when the Southern sugar industry was flourishing, stately homes and plantations were built on the banks of the Mississippi. Many of these historic homes have now perished, but Oak Alley remains a testament to the struggles and triumphs of the South. Enjoy a guided tour of the Big House, see the exhibits, the blacksmith shop, and enjoy the beautiful grounds of this historic home.
