There is plenty of variety in Linz
Located on both sides of the Danube, Linz is one of the most accessible cities in Austria. Though it has a small population of just over 189,000 people, there are plenty of historic sights that make it a popular destination among tourists.

The city dates back to the Roman Empire and its rich history is readily on display. Its most well-known landmark is the Pöstlingberg church. Perched atop the Pöstlingberg hill, this two-towered structure is instantly recognizable. In addition to being a stunning architectural display, the building has a viewing platform that offers visitors a unique panoramic view of the city below.

Linz is also home to the famous concert hall The Brucknerhaus. The beautiful building sits on the banks of the Danube, and plays host to more than 200 performances each year. Since it opened in 1973, The Brucknerhaus has attracted about 180,000 visitors annually.

Anybody lucky enough to make it to Linz in the second half of July will be treated to Pflasterspektakel, a three-day long street art festival. The event has been active for 24 years and features performers of all varieties including jugglers, mimes and fire dancers.
