Day 2

New Orleans and Board Norwegian Breakaway

Today you will board your floating hotel for the next week as you embark on your Western Caribbean cruise. Before we head to the ship, we take a half-day included motor coach tour of ‘The Big Easy,' one of the country’s oldest and most interesting cities. You’ll see the French Quarter with Jackson Square along with St. Louis Cathedral and colorful Bourbon Street during a short walk. We’ll also make a short stop at one of the old cemeteries or “cities of the dead.” You’ll even witness firsthand the destruction remaining from Katrina in the Ninth Ward before we continue to the shore of Lake Pontchartrain. View the longest bridge in the world and see the new flood gates and rebuilt levees, as well as antebellum mansions. Then we’ll travel on St. Charles Avenue, following the Mardi Gras route. After time for lunch on your own, we will head to the cruise port to embark your ship, Norwegian Breakaway, with plenty of time to relax, settle into your stateroom, and get acquainted with the ship before dinner. The cruise departs the port of New Orleans in the late afternoon.

Day 3

At Sea

You will have plenty of time to relax, unwind and rejuvenate at sea. Get to know the Norwegian Breakaway at leisure and enjoy the many onboard facilities, entertainment and dining choices. There are so many things to do we can’t mention them all, but some of the highlights would include a casino, spa, fitness center, lounges, pool decks, nightly shows, shops, and a program of daytime activities. This is your rest and relaxation time and how much you do is up to you.

Day 4

Cozumel, Mexico (8:00 AM–5:00 PM)

The island of Cozumel off the tip of the Yucatan Peninsula continues to be known for its fantastic fishing, snorkeling and diving opportunities. And despite the growth of tourism in recent years, the island and its only town, San Miguel, retain much of their original warmth and charm. Explore the rich underwater world of the Caribbean without getting wet on one of today’s optional excursions, ‘Reef explorer semi-sub.’ You’ll be sitting just four feet below the surface in an air conditioned vessel.

Day 5

At Sea

Enjoy another relaxing day at sea as your cruise the Caribbean lounging dining, dancing, or relaxing!

Day 6

Harvest Caye (8:00 AM–5:00 PM)

Harvest Caye, Norwegian Cruise Line's private island in Southern Belize, will be the Caribbean’s premier island destination. Immerse yourself in natural beauty and culture on a 75-acre oasis featuring an expansive pool, lagoon for water sports, exclusive beach, shore excursions and access to the world’s second largest barrier reef.

Day 7

Costa Maya, Mexico (7:00 AM–2:00 PM)

This unspoiled coastal paradise in the Yucatán sprawls off the beaten path, with brilliant butterflies, exotic tropical birds, deer, monkeys – even jaguars are said to roam the remote parts of this pristine jungle. Costa Maya’s highlight has to be Chacchoben with its Mayan Ruins, which date back 3,000 years. Visit them on an optional excursion where your guide will reveal ancient secrets of Mayan culture and history before you climb the stairs leading to the first plateau of the main pyramid and view the recently excavated ruins that lie beneath this sacred ground.
