Welcome to Zurich! If you purchased airline tickets from YMT Vacations, a YMT representative will greet you at Zurich Airport and transport you to the hotel. This evening, relax on your own and then get to know your fellow travelers over dinner at your hotel, where you will learn about the exciting days ahead.

Zurich, Switzerland

Zurich is a welcoming place to visit that you’re sure to remember long after you leave. Situated on the banks of Lake Zurich, beauty is everywhere. Enjoy a city tour of Zurich’s highlights, including the Old Town and the Grossmünster, a 12th century Romanesque-style Protestant church which legend claims was commissioned by Charlemagne. In addition, Zurich has a reputation for stellar food. Exquisite wine, magnificent cheese, and extraordinary chocolate are all here for the taking. Ask for a suggestion from one of the friendly locals—very good English is spoken nearly everywhere, and residents of Zurich are renowned for being welcoming to visitors. (B)

Lucerne, Switzerland

Enjoy even more incredible scenery today as you travel through the country by coach. Fall in love with Lucerne on a walking tour of this historic city on the banks of Lake Lucerne, and see the famous Chapel Bridge. Surrounded on all sides by the Alps, Lucerne’s colorful Old Town is simply enchanting! (B)

Lake Como, Italy

Next, visit Lake Como. As sophisticated as James Bond himself—it was an important setting in 2006’s Casino Royale—Lake Como is full of neoclassical villas, historic palaces, and magnificent views. The lush, fragrant, flower covered village is surrounded by mountains, and it’s a gloriously glamorous place to dine al fresco while looking out at the lake. (B, D)

Embarkation in Genoa, Italy (Departs at 6:00 PM)

This stunning port city has maintained much of its Renaissance charm over the centuries. Snake through Genoa's famously narrow streets that make guests feel like they're traveling back through time. The striking, ornate, UNESCO - listed Palazzi dei Rolli is a must-see. This evening, you will embark on the MSC Poesia. (B)

Marseille, France (8:00 AM–6:00 PM)

Marseille, your first port stop, was established in 600 BC, making it France’s oldest city. Marseille is famous for its many terracotta-roofed buildings, including the Palais Longchamp and Cathedral of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde.

Barcelona, Spain (7:00 AM–3:00 PM)

Barcelona’s over 7,000 years of human history functions as a backdrop where Roman ruins are woven into the fabric of a unique, contemporary city. There are 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Barcelona, not to mention a long, sandy coastline, fabulous food, and terrific shopping.

Lisbon, Portugal (10:00 AM–6:00 PM)

Welcome to Portugal’s hilly coastal capital! Lisbon is watched over by 7 picturesque hills, and their view of an ancient city with cobblestoned streets and stately ruins, combined with all the light and noise of modern life, is one of Europe’s prettiest.

Leixões / Porto, Portugal (8:00 AM–5:00 PM)

Stay local in Leixões, or travel 5 miles into Porto, one of Portugal’s oldest cities which was first settled around 300 BC. Its historic center has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is the perfect place to sample a glass of port wine—named after Porto itself.

Ferrol / Santiago de Compostela, Spain (9:00 AM–5:00 PM)

Ferrol is a port town famous for its easygoing attitude, delicious cuisine, and maritime museum, the Museo de Construcción Naval. The cathedral of Santiago de Compostela is a sight to behold.

Have an enjoyable day at port in this stone age city, or take one of our optional tours to one of England’s best-known destinations like Stonehenge or London.

Copenhagen, Denmark (10:00 AM–6:00 PM)

Velkommen til København! The Danish capital was first established in the 10th century, and during your time in this vibrant city you’ll have the chance to learn about its history while enjoying the cutting-edge technology it now embraces.

Day 18

Disembarkation in Warnemünde and Transfer to Berlin (Departs at 8:00 AM)

Disembark this morning in Warnemünde, a German seaside village with broad sandy beaches and a proud nautical tradition clearly on display in its 19th century lighthouse. Continue to Berlin for a city tour. Berlin’s history and culture from before and after WWII are on full display; from the Brandenburg Gate to Checkpoint Charlie, to the beautiful gardens and museums that pepper the capital. (D)
