A passport, valid for at least 6 months after your return, is required to participate in this tour. Additionally, visas may be required to go ashore in several ports. As of 11/1/2019, US citizens will require the following:

  • Hong Kong SAR, China: No visa is required
  • Philippines: No visa is required
  • Malaysia: No visa is required
  • Vietnam: Visa is available onboard for approximately for guests participating in HAL-run shore excursions*. Guests who wish to go ashore independently or with another operator’s shore excursions will need to apply for an individual visa by Vietnam’s e-visa process
  • Thailand: No visa is required
  • Singapore: No visa is required
*Guests who choose to participate in Holland America Line’s overnight excursions (EXC Overnight and EXC Overland Adventure programs) will need to apply for an individual visa with the Vietnamese consular offices.

Arrive in Hong Kong

Welcome to Hong Kong! If you purchased airline tickets from YMT, a representative will welcome you at the airport and transport you to the hotel.

Day 3

Hong Kong Tour and Embarkation

Hong Kong is one of the world's most cosmopolitan cities where East truly meets West. Take a ride on the iconic Star Ferry crossing Victoria Harbor and then on one of the world's steepest funicular railways, the Peak Tram with spectacular views of the skyline, the harbor, and green hillsides. The tour continues to the famous fishing village of Aberdeen with an included Sampan (boat) ride and then finally to Stanley, a popular market town on the south side of Hong Kong Island. Board the ship this evening and sleep onboard. (B)

Hong Kong Day in Port (Depart 5:00 PM)

Enjoy the full day in Hong Kong, or join one of our optional excursions. You may choose to discover the colorful Kowloon Markets, or explore the unspoiled countryside and lush green valleys of Lantau Island.

Manila, Philippines (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM)

The energy and excitement of Manila's people make this bayside city feel electric, and you’re sure to enjoy the dramatic contrasts that characterize Manila. Find Spanish Colonial churches next to towering, ultramodern skyscrapers; bustling food markets next to pristine, shopping centers. It’s also an impressively multicultural city, with a swirl of languages, cuisines and cultures coexisting peacefully.

Boracay, Philippines (8:00 AM – 3:00 PM)

Recognized by Condé Nast and Travel + Leisure as one of the world’s most beautiful islands, Boracay is a true paradise on earth. Warm azure water and soft sandy beaches are backed by gently swaying palm trees—and on Boracay, you’re never far from a delicious restaurant or perfectly prepared tropical drink.

Puerto Princesa, Philippines (8:00 AM – 11:00 PM)

Puerto Princesa is a highlight for nature lovers. The local beaches are ideal for snorkeling, and there are a number of incredible parks. Maybe the biggest draw, however, is the Subterranean River, a breathtaking underground waterway traveled via riverboat. See stalactites, stalagmites, caverns, and waterfalls if you choose to take a ride down this utterly unique river.

Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM)

Compact and easy to explore on foot, Kota Kinabalu—also known as KK—is the ideal place to enjoy a nice stroll. The best views can be enjoyed at the Signal Hill Observatory Deck. You can look out at distant islands on the South China Sea, and observe how KK’s concrete tropical jungles merge. KK’s cuisine and shopping opportunities are varied and abundant. Handicrafts, pearls, souvenirs, fresh fruit unlike anything you’ve ever tasted, and of course just-caught seafood, are available nearly everywhere.

Phu My (Ho Chin Minh City), Vietnam (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM)

Formerly known as Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City offers a combination of old and new, with well-preserved colonial structures, relics from the Vietnam War, as well as sleek skyscrapers, vibrant markets, and expansive shopping malls.

Laem Chabang (Bangkok), Thailand (7:00 AM – 1:00 AM Next Day)

Marvel at Bangkok’s glorious golden temples, catch a tuk tuk in the bustling Chinatown, or take a longtail boat through floating markets. Food is another of Bangkok's highlights, from local dishes served at humble street stalls to haute cuisine at romantic rooftop restaurants along the Chao Phraya River.

Disembarkation and City Tour of Singapore (7:00 AM)

Welcome to Singapore, an island city-state, a highly developed trading center, and one of the smallest countries in the world. Disembark and take an included city tour, starting with a drive through Little India, whose stalls offer everything from Saris, to aromatic spices, to intricate ornaments. Continue past City Hall, the famous Raffles Hotel, and the statue of the Merlion, Singapore’s enduring symbol.

Spend the day on your own relaxing and exploring Singapore. Be sure to visit an open-air food market—the dishes you’ll find at these “hawker centres” are humble, affordable, and outrageously delicious. (B)
