Welcome to the capital of the United States of America! Guests who booked air with YMT will be greeted by a YMT representative and transferred to their hotel.

Day 2

Washington, D.C.

Enjoy a half-day city tour and learn about the history that surrounds Washington, D.C. Take in views of the powerful and awe-inspiring monuments and historic locations that pay tribute to the nation's past like the Washington Monument, and Lincoln, Vietnam Veterans, WWII and Korean War Veterans Memorials. Finally you'll have the chance to take a picture of the White House. The afternoon is at leisure —join one of the optional tours or wander off to explore this fascinating city on your own. (B)

Day 3

Washington, D.C.

This morning we are heading to Arlington National Cemetery, an enduring tribute to those who’ve dedicated their lives to defending our nation. Enjoy an included self-guided tour with plenty of time: a 45-minute bus loop gives you the chance to hop on and off at 10 stops, including the grave site of President John F. Kennedy, the U.S. Coast Guard Memorial and the Memorial Amphitheater. Learn about the cemetery's history, the heroes who rest there, and other stories from your knowledgeable guide onboard the bus. Don't miss the "changing of the guards" every half hour at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, guarded 24/7/365 by volunteer Sentinels from the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment headquartered at Fort Myer, VA. Afterwards the tour continues to the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial. (B)

Day 4

Washington, D.C. to Mt. Vernon to Williamsburg

Your tour continues to Mount Vernon, George Washington's famous mansion. Enjoy a self-guided tour and explore the grounds, including the reconstructed Slave Quarters, working Blacksmith Shop, immersive Pioneer Farm site, and stunning gardens.In the afternoon we will visit the Jamestown Settlement, America's first permanent English colony. Relive the experience through a re-created Powhatan Indian village, colonial fort and three replica ships that demonstrate daily life in early 17th century Jamestown. End the day with a traditional 18th century dinner experience in Williamsburg at the Kings Arms, famous for their peanut soup. (B, D)

Day 5

Williamsburg to Shenandoah National Park

Explore Colonial Williamsburg and enjoy four hours sampling some of the best of this Historic Area. Tour the Governor’s Palace, Capitol, or Raleigh Tavern and learn of the debates that raged in the years leading to America's independence. Visit a trade shop or historic house and discover something about the everyday life of Williamsburg’s 18th-century residents. Colonial Williamsburg will take you back in time to the dawn of America. In the afternoon, continue to Shenandoah National Park and enjoy stunning views from Skyline Drive along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This evening, stay at the historic Skyland Resort inside the National Park. (B)

Day 6

Shenandoah National Park to Gettysburg

See the sun rise from Skyline Drive's highest elevation at 3,680 feet and enjoy a leisurely morning before we continue to Gettysburg. See the most important battlefield of the Civil War, brought to life by the stories you’ll hear from your local battlefield guide. Learn about the Gettysburg Address, Lincoln's 272-word speech that defined the meaning, value and price of freedom. (B)

Day 7

Gettysburg to Amish Country to Philadelphia

Today we will travel thought Pennsylvania Dutch Country with a stop at an Amish outpost to learn more about this traditional way of living. Visit an Amish house and make sure to stop at the store for handmade quilts and homemade jams. Then, continue to the iconic Strasburg Rail Road, America's oldest short-line railroad, built circa 1832. Enjoy an included lunch aboard the authentically restored dining car pulled by a real steam-powered locomotive during a 45-minute ride through farmland where Amish farmers can sometimes be seen working their fields by horse plow. Then continue to Philadelphia, the cradle of American liberty. During a city tour you will see Independence National Historic Park, the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Franklin Court and more. This afternoon, visit the National Constitution Center and explore the many exhibitions including "Freedom Rising," a 360-degree theatrical production that vividly illuminates the story of the U.S. Constitution and Signers' Hall, where you can sign the Constitution alongside 42 life-size bronze statues of the Founding Fathers. Philadelphia to New York

Today we head to New York, the Big Apple. Upon arrival, enjoy an hour-long boat cruise with unparalleled views of Manhattan’s iconic skyline and landmarks, including the Freedom Tower, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge, and more! (B)

New York

The day starts with a fabulous city tour of New York-see the major sights of the "Big Apple," including views of the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, and the Chrysler Building. Stop at Central Park, one of world's most renowned green spaces, and drive by famous Times Square with its flashing neon lights and giant digital billboards—big, bright, and unforgettable! Then your day continues with a visit to the 9/11 Memorial, a place of remembrance. The rest of the day is at your leisure to fill how you'd like—explore this city by yourself or perhaps join our optional tour. (B)
