Day 1 & 2

Depart for Sydney, Australia

Travel to the fun and friendly "land down under." En route, cross the International Date Line separating the East and West. You will "lose" a day traveling to Oz, and gain it back upon your return.

Note: Depending on the departure time, guests flying from Hawaii and Alaska depart January 26.

Day 3

Arrive in Sydney

Arrive in Sydney, Australia's largest city. If you purchased airline tickets from YMT Vacations, a YMT representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to explore the city on your own. (B)

Day 4

Sydney City Tour

Enjoy a city tour in the morning and visit The Rocks, Sydney's birthplace. See fascinating relics and buildings of the city's turbulent past, pass the picturesque Botanic Garden, and take in the view of the Sydney Opera House before enjoying the rest of the day at your leisure. (B)

Sydney Leisure Day

Today is your final full day in Sydney. Feel free to explore the bustling cosmopolitan city on your own or relax for tomorrow's cruise. (B)

Day 6

Embarkation in Sydney

This morning is at your leisure before you embark on your 12-day cruise on the Norwegian Jewel. (B)

Day 7 & 8

At Sea

Settle in and enjoy the many amenities of your cruise ship. Enjoy 16 dining options and 15 bars, or perhaps indulge in the spa or take a dip in one of the many hot tubs.

Day 9

Cruise Dusky, Doubtful and Milford Sound

Today you will sail through the stunning Fiordland National Park. See the fiords' cliffs rise vertically from the dark waters, mountain peaks scrape the sky, and waterfalls cascade downwards - some as high as 3,200 feet.

Day 10

Dunedin, New Zealand (9:00 AM–7:00 PM)

This dramatic South Island coastal town offers a mix of unique natural beauty and fascinating history. Rare, yellow-eyed Penguins, fur seals, and the Royal Albatross all call Dunedin home.

Day 11

Akaroa, New Zealand (8:00 AM–5:00 PM)

Tiny Penguins rule the roost in this historic settlement nestled in the heart of an ancient volcano. This historic French and British Settlement is rich in colonial architecture, galleries, craft stores and cafes. As it is located on the Akaroa Harbor, you may even spot the rare Hector's Dolphins swimming nearby.

Day 12

Picton, New Zealand (8:00 AM–5:00 PM)

Picton is a quaint town located in the Marlborough Region of New Zealand's South Island. Small but bustling, it is known as the gateway to the Marlborough Sounds and the ideal destination for those looking to relax, nature loves and boater enthusiasts alike!

Day 13

Wellington, New Zealand (7:00 AM–7:00 PM)

Welcome to the capital of New Zealand. Wellington sits near the North Island's Southernmost point in the Cook Strait. Take the cable car up the mountain or see the sites where the Lord of the Rings trilogy was filmed.

Day 14

Napier, New Zealand (8:00 AM–3:00 PM)

Take a walk down Marine Parade, a tree-lined ocean boulevard with fountains and gardens, or go out to the country to enjoy the lovely vistas, tour superb area vineyards, and relax with a glass of wine.

Day 15

Tauranga, New Zealand (7:00 AM–5:00 PM)

Head to the beach or discover Tauranga's lovely parks and rich history. Visit a village buried by a volcanic eruption, frozen in time. Take a selfie at Hell's Gate, an aptly named geothermal park with boiling pools, fantastic geysers and mud baths.

Day 16 & 17

Auckland, New Zealand (8:00 AM–1:00 PM next day)

Your next stop will be in New Zealand's largest city. Walk along the harbor, see the Sky Tower or visit one of the many cafes, restaurants or museums this city has to offer. With plenty to do in this lively city, you are sure to enjoy your time exploring.

Day 18 & 19

At Sea

Enjoy 2 days aboard the Norwegian Jewel!

Day 20

Day 20 • Disembark in Sydney and Fly to Melbourne

Disembark in Sydney before catching an afternoon flight to Melbourne where the rest of the day will be at your leisure.

Melbourne Leisure Days

Once the richest city in the world thanks to the gold rush, Melbourne is Australia's cultural capital with remarkable architecture, elegant galleries, and boutiques. Wave at a wallaby or get close to a koala at a wildlife park on your two days of leisure before you return home. (B)
