The energy and excitement of Manila's people make this bayside city feel electric, and you’re sure to enjoy the dramatic contrasts that characterize Manila. It’s also an impressively multicultural city, with a swirl of coexisting languages, cuisines and cultures.

Day 9

Kaohsiung, Taiwan (7:00 AM –4:00 PM)

Kaohsiung’s impressive architecture ranges from atmospheric temples and monasteries to soaring commercial skyscrapers and a gleaming mall topped with a Ferris wheel. The city is home to funky boutiques, colorful metro stations and modern galleries, with wide streets filled with cafés and restaurants. The seafood and noodle stalls you’ll find in Kaohsiung are great for lunch, and their traditional, humble street food will give you an authentic taste of Taiwan!

Day 10

Keelung (Taipei), Taiwan (8:00 AM –11:00 PM)

Keelung’s unique geography—it’s sheltered in a well-protected harbor—has led to its occupation by the Spanish, Japanese, French, Dutch, British and Chinese. This international heritage shows in Keelung’s abundant historical sites. And, there are plenty of coffee shops, markets and museums to discover in the compact downtown.

Day 11

At Sea

Day 12

Naha, Japan (9:00 AM–6:00 PM)

With a fascinating past as the capital of the Ryukyu Kingdom, and a working port that dates back to the 15th century, Naha is both an exciting and laid-back modern city.

Day 13

Ishigaki Island, Japan (9:00 AM–6:00 PM)

Filled with white sand beaches and rich mangrove forests, you’d be forgiven for mistaking Ishigaki for Oahu. Much like on the tropical islands it resembles, Ishigaki’s seafood is fresh, varied, and beautifully prepared.

Day 14

At Sea

Day 15

Nagasaki, Japan (8:00 AM–6:00 PM)

Situated in the northwest of Kyushu on one of Japan’s largest islands, Nagasaki is an extremely cosmopolitan port city with a strong tourism infrastructure, fascinating history, and a picturesque harbor that’s been an active port since the 16th century. The city is home to many shops and restaurants, as well as numerous cultural and historic attractions.

Day 16

Busan, South Korea (8:00 AM–5:00 PM)

Busan combines a vibrant, big-city atmosphere with a famously laid-back attitude in a subtropical setting. It offers visitors a little of everything: fashionable boutiques and a lively culture, as well as sandy beaches, hot springs, and local mountains dotted with temples. Cultural highlights include the Gamcheon Cultural Village; the spectacular Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, built into the side of a cliff; and Art Street in Sinchang-dong.

Day 17

Sasebo, Japan

Located on the edge of Japan’s Kyushu Island, Sasebo is a seaside city with a friendly reputation and incredible views. Sasebo’s close proximity to an American Naval base means that since the 1950s it has been the perfect place to grab a delicious hamburger. Try “The Real Burger,” topped with bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and a sunny side up egg for a local treat that tastes just like home!.

Day 18
