This tour highlights both man-made and natural icons of the western United States. We've taken our tour of the iconic New Years Parade and included icons of Los Angeles, then we added Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Sedona and Zion National Park to create this unforgettable Rose Parade package!

Welcome to Los Angeles! Guests booking air with YMT will be greeted by a YMT representative and transferred to their hotel. Enjoy the evening on your own after an informative briefing on the days ahead.

Day 2

Los Angeles

Today you have the option to visit one of several attractions in Los Angeles (at additional cost) or spend the morning at leisure. Choose from the Getty Center, the Ronald Reagan Library or perhaps a visit to the retired Space Shuttle Endeavor and the California Science Center. In the evening, enjoy a private float viewing at the Pasadena Rosemont Pavilion, and learn the history and traditions of the Rose Parade at YMT’s exclusive event presented by the Tournament of Roses Committee. The evening includes a casual dinner. (D)

Day 3


Today you will tour Los Angeles and Hollywood, getting a glimpse into the many sites within the “City of Angels.” Along the way, view the Music Center with the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Chinese Theatre, Dolby Theatre and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Then, drive into Beverly Hills to see where the stars shop.

Day 4


Today you will enjoy the 130th Tournament of Roses Parade! There’s nothing like viewing this parade in person! Watch in wonder from your reserved seats in the YMT grand stand as the floats, spectacularly decorated with millions of colorful flowers pass by. The entire surface of each float is covered with different varieties of flowers, seeds, bark, leaves and other natural materials. The floats will be accompanied by the best marching bands from across the country, entertaining you with music, dance, flag waving and acrobatics – truly a spectacle that you must see in person at least once in your lifetime!

Day 5


Today you’ll traverse the desert to Laughlin, Nevada. Situated on the banks of the Colorado River, Laughlin represents one of the fastest growing gambling areas in the states. Not only does Laughlin have the hotels and casinos that beckon visitors, but its location on the banks of the great Colorado River offers visitors a unique setting. Use your leisure time in the afternoon to ride a riverboat, visit a casino, shop the unique boutiques, or cross the river to visit Bull Head City, Arizona

Day 6

Sedona & Grand Canyon National Park

Today we are heading to see the spectacular Red Rocks and art galleries of Sedona! Take an optional jeep tour of Sedona, which has made a name for itself as an artist colony, or explore this fascinating town on your own during this lunch break. We continue through beautiful Oak Creek Canyon and slowly leave the striking red sandstone formations behind. This evening, we arrive at the Grand Canyon for a two-night stay in this awe-inspiring landscape.

Day 7

Grand Canyon National Park

Start your day with an included leisurely breakfast with breathtaking views of the Grand Canyon before a full day at the magnificent Grand Canyon National Park. You will find that the quiet winter season offers even more breathtaking views and possible encounters with wildlife when you pay a visit to the rim. The sunset will be a must-see and offer a multitude of orange and purple hues with possible snow-capped rock formations as far as the eyes can see. Hop on one of the park shuttles or perhaps choose an optional helicopter flight over the Seventh Wonder of the World! (B)

Day 8

Zion National Park & St. George

Today we are leaving the Grand Canyon behind, and continuing to another nature experience - Zion National Park. On the way marvel at Glen Canyon Dam near Page, Arizona and Lake Powell, one of the biggest man-made reservoirs, during a quick stop. In the afternoon, we arrive at Zion National Park, which offers a fascinating landscape of deep canyons and soaring cliffs sure to amaze you!

Las Vegas

We continue to Las Vegas, the “Entertainment Capital of the World." With a multitude of activities, attractions, and dining options, you’ll soon see that Las Vegas is always open! This evening, perhaps enjoy one of our fabulous optional tours—an exciting show.

Depart for Home

Bid farewell to the beautiful West. Guests who have booked YMT air will be transferred to the Las Vegas airport for their flight home.

America’s National Park System is the envy of the world, and on our 14-day National Parks of the Golden West Tour, experience its magnificence when you visit 9 different US National Parks.  Most people only get to see one or two of these parks in their lifetime; seeing so many of them on one tour makes it an exceptional opportunity.

Headed west, we travel into Utah’s capitol, Salt Lake City  and see the lake that gives this city its name, the largest salt water lake in the Western Hemisphere, the unique Great Salt Lake. with it’s nearby The Bonneville Salt Flats, famous as a site for land speed records. Majestic Lake Tahoe awaits with 72 miles of pristine shorelines making it the largest alpine lake in North America. From here it is on to California and another jewel in the National Park system: Yosemite National Park. Witness its extraordinary landscapes of granite cliffs, plunging waterfalls, towering trees, pristine streams and abundant wildlife.  Continue through the jointly managed Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks and view the famed ancient giant redwoods, some of which tower over 300 feet. Weather permitting, we travel through Death Valley National Park, the lowest point of elevation in North America on the way back into Las Vegas to depart for home full of memories to share for a lifetime.
