Los Angeles

Welcome to Los Angeles! Guests booking air with YMT will be greeted by a YMT representative and transferred to their hotel. Enjoy the evening on your own after an informative briefing on the days ahead.

Day 2

Los Angeles

Today you have the option to visit one of several iconic attractions in Los Angeles (at additional cost) or spend the morning at leisure. Choose from the Getty Center, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library or perhaps a visit to the retired Space Shuttle Endeavour and the California Science Center. In the evening, enjoy a private float viewing at the Pasadena Rosemont Pavilion, and learn the history and traditions of the Rose Parade at YMT's exclusive event presented by the Tournament of Roses Committee. The evening includes a casual dinner. (D)

Day 3

Los Angeles

Today we will take you on a tour of Los Angeles and Hollywood. Feel the magic of Hollywood and experience its unique history! See moviemaking landmarks like the Dolby Theater, the Chinese Theater, and the world famous Walk of Fame and hear fun stories of celebrity lifestyles and LA. Along the way, drive by Beverly Hills, view the Music Center with the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown LA, and enjoy some free time at the famous Farmers Market, originated in 1934, and Olvera Street, the birthplace of Los Angeles and a Mexican Marketplace today.

Day 4


Enjoy the 130th Tournament of Roses Parade. There's nothing like viewing this parade in person! Watch in wonder from your reserved seats in the YMT grand stand as the floats, spectacularly decorated with millions of colorful flowers, pass by. The entire surface of each float is covered with different varieties of flowers, seeds, bark, leaves and other natural materials. Their two-hour presentation will be accompanied by the best marching bands from across the country, entertaining you with music, dance, flag waving and acrobatics – truly a spectacle that you must see in person at least once in your lifetime!

Day 5

Los Angeles and Santa Barbara

Today you will enjoy a day at Santa Barbara — the "American Riviera" of California with its Spanish mission style architecture. Situated along the "El Camino Real," this once humble mission post has developed into an upscale seaside resort and university town. Most likely due to moderate Mediterranean climate, it has become a popular weekend getaway destination for many Angelenos. Visit Santa Barbara Mission, one of the famous Camino Real Missions founded by Father Junipero Serra and enjoy a panoramic tour and leisure time.

Day 6

Los Angeles, Joshua Tree National Park, and Palm Springs

This morning depart for Palm Springs. Since the 1930's, Californians have been flocking to this resort town seeking clean air and sunshine. Famous for its mid century architecture, Palm Springs has been home to presidents and entertainment stars alike. En route you will visit Joshua Tree National Park, an astonishingly beautiful desert landscape named after its most prolific inhabitant, the Joshua Tree. The tree reportedly received its name by a band of Mormons who crossed the Mojave Desert in the mid-19th century, its unique shape reminding them of a Biblical story in which Joshua reaches his hands up to the sky. Then arrive in Palm Springs where you will enjoy a panoramic city tour before you check in at your beautiful 4-star resort. Tonight your evening is at leisure to enjoy the resort and its elegant dining, or to venture into town for nightlife and entertainment.

Day 7

Palm Springs and San Diego

Today we will leave the moderate desert climate behind and head back to the shores of the ocean and on to San Diego. En route we will travel through Temecula county, California's southernmost wine region. Enjoy an included tour and tasting at a local winery before you have an opportunity for lunch on your own in Old Temecula. We will arrive in the early afternoon in San Diego, when you will enjoy a comprehensive city tour of the area that includes the Gaslamp district, Coronado Island, Seaport Village and Balboa Park amongst other. After check-in at your hotel, the evening is at leisure.

San Diego

You may choose to discover San Diego on your own. Spend some time at Seaport Village, or explore the USS Midway, which has found its retirement dock here in the harbor (admission extra), hire one of the Pedicabs that you will see in abundance in the harbor area. Of course you may also join one of our optional tour opportunities for the day: A Whale Watching Cruise or a visit to the world famous San Diego Zoo will be amongst our offerings.

Depart for Home

Today your vacation comes to an end, but you'll depart home with new friends and memories to reflect on for years to come! Transfer to the airport is included for guests that booked air with YMT.

Autumn Leaves Tour


Imagine traveling through the heart of America’s history while witnessing the kaleidoscopic spectacle of fall colors in the Northeastern United States.  Our 14-day Autumn Leaves Tour takes you from Philadelphia to Gettysburg, Niagara Falls, along the shores of Lake Ontario, through the Adirondacks, the Green & White Mountains, Boston, Cape Cod, Bridgeport, New York City and back into Philadelphia against a backdrop of the rich colors of fall. 

Our tour begins where our nation began, in historic Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - the cradle of American liberty, where you will see Independence National Historic Park, the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and Franklin Court.  Next you will travel through the colorful fall scenery of picturesque Pennsylvania Dutch Country stopping at an Amish outpost to learn about this traditional way of life before visiting historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania - the most important battlefield of the Civil War.  You then continue north through Pennsylvania and New York State, stopping at the Corning Museum of Glass which showcases spectacular pieces of glass art and conducts demonstrations of glass blowing. 

You will need to bring your passport on this tour as you will cross the Canadian border to the awe-inspiring Niagara Falls where millions of gallons of water spew over the horseshoe-shaped falls creating a powerful sight and sound.  The tour continues along the shores of Lake Ontario to Kingston, home to Ft. Henry and the Royal Military College of Canada.  Then we take to the water on an included 2.5 hour boat cruise through the 1000 Islands enjoying a fascinating narrative of the area’s history and views of the fabulous summer homes of the rich and famous including Boldt Castle. 

Our tour then crosses back into the U.S. and travels through the colorful fall foliage of the beautiful Adirondacks with a stop at Lake Placid, site of the famous “Miracle on Ice” when the US men’s hockey team defeated the Russians in the 1990 Olympic Winter Games.  We then journey through the breathtaking Green and White Mountains stopping to visit Franconia Notch State Park and the magnificent Flume Gorge.  Turning south, the tour heads into Boston, Massachusetts and where you will enjoy a city tour including following the Freedom Trail, seeing the Boston Common and the Paul Revere House.  Next you follow the New England coastline to Cape Cod and visit the Cape Cod National Seashore with its pristine beaches, lighthouses and wild cranberry bogs.  There you will have the chance to join fellow travelers for an optional tour to Martha’s Vineyard before heading into Rhode Island for a visit to one of the famous Newport Mansions. Finally, you will discover the “Big Apple” - New York City, with sightseeing including the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, the Chrysler Building and Central Park before continuing to Philadelphia to depart for home full of memories of a lifetime.
