Enjoy the evening at leisure before you start your discovery into Elvis’ eclectic life.

The Guest House at Graceland or similar

Day 5

Memphis

Every music lover must take the ultimate Rock ‘n’ Roll pilgrimage! Explore Graceland, the main residence of Elvis Presley. When Elvis Presley was a young boy, he promised his parents that he would make a lot of money and buy them the finest house in town, putting an end to years of struggle. For Presley, Graceland was the fulfillment of that childhood promise. Over the 20 years Elvis lived here, Graceland created countless memories for the many friends and relatives who were a part of his life. Because Graceland was so close to Elvis' heart, it also holds deep meaning to his legions of fans from around the world. For many, the Elvis Presley mansion embodies the American Dream—a poor small town boy who reached super stardom and changed pop culture, and the world, forever. As the front door to Elvis Presley's mansion opens, you are taken on an unforgettable journey into the private world of an American legend. Explore the famous Jungle Room with its green shag carpets, Polynesian feel and exotically carved woods, the trophy building, meditation garden, and much more.

Day 6

Tupelo and Jackson

This morning we leave Memphis behind and make our way to Tupelo, where "The King" himself was born! Visit the Elvis Presley Birthplace, a historical museum site designated as a landmark by the State of Mississippi. The landscaped grounds include the home in which Elvis was born (a two-bedroom home built by his grandfather, father, and uncle), the childhood church where his family attended services, a museum, a memorial chapel, Elvis statues, and more. After your visit, we continue to Jackson, for an evening at leisure.

Cabot Lodge Millsaps or similar

Day 7

New Orleans

As we make our way to New Orleans this morning, we stop at Oak Alley Plantation. Built over 150 years ago when the Southern sugar industry was flourishing, stately homes and plantations were built on the banks of the Mississippi. Many of these historic homes have now perished, but Oak Alley remains a testament to the struggles and triumphs of the South. Enjoy a guided tour of the Big House, see the exhibits, the blacksmith shop, and enjoy the beautiful grounds of this historic home. As we make our way to New Orleans, you’ll see the French Quarter with Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral, and colorful Bourbon Street. Then we'll continue on to St. Charles Avenue, following the Mardi Gras parade route.

Day 8

New Orleans

You are in for a special treat this morning! Enjoy brunch at the Court of Two Sisters Restaurant while listening to jazz music being played by their jazz trio band. The restaurant is not only known for its lavish food, but also for its rich history. The charming gates at the entrance are said to have been brought in from Spain specifically for Court of Two Sisters. Legend says that Queen Isabella of Spain had them blessed so that their charm would pass onto anyone who touched them. The rest of the day is at leisure; perhaps take advantage of our optional tour and join your fellow travelers on a real life adventure—a guided boat ride through the swamps and bayous of Louisiana (additional cost)!
