Then board the Norwegian Star. (B)

Day 5

Montevideo, Uruguay (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Resting on the southernmost point of the Rio de la Plata, Uruguay's capital is a charming city.

Day 6

Punta Del Este, Uruguay (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Punta del Este is often called the San Tropez of Latin America because it is full of gorgeous beaches, sophisticated resorts, excellent shopping, and a nearly endless array of worldclass restaurants. All that is not to say that it’s in the least bit stuffy—by far the most popular dessert in Punta del Este is the humble ice cream cone. You can buy ice cream nearly anywhere, and you’ll be amazed by just how creamy it is. Uruguay has more cows than people, and its dairy products are some of the best in the world.

Day 7

At Sea

Day 8

Puerto Madryn, Argentina (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Puerto Madryn is an amazing stop for animal lovers. Southern Right Whales are often visible right from the beach, and guests can visit with wild penguins, or go diving with delightfully friendly sea lions. The Museo Provincial de Ciencias Naturales y Oceanográfico is a free natural history museum right in town.

Day 9

At Sea

Day 10

Port Stanley, Falkland Islands (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

This quaint city is home to a small population— there are so few residents that the town’s only “jail” can hold just 13 people—but it is rich with birds and marine animals.

Day 11

Cruise Cape Horn, Chile

Enjoy vistas of azure waters and lesser-known fjords as you pass through some of nature’s most exciting creations. Be on the lookout for the world famous lighthouses of Cape Horn!

Day 12

Ushuaia, Argentina (7:00 AM – 2:00 PM)

Ushuaia is the world’s southernmost city, and this provincial capital “at the end of the world” is a fascinating port stop. It has incredible views of the Martial Mountains, and offers easy access to the dramatic scenery of Tierra del Fuego National Park and Lapataia Bay.

Day 13

Punta Arenas, Chile (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

From the original name "Sandy Point," Punta Arenas had its humble beginnings as sparse penal colony near the Straits of Magellan. Today, this gateway into Antarctica is renowned for its great shopping, gloriously clean air, and European architecture.

Days 14 & 15

At Sea

Day 16

Puerto Montt, Chile (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM)

Chilean foodies travel long distances to dine in Puerto Montt—the capital of the Lakes District is full of excellent restaurants. In addition, visitors flock to see the Osorno Volcano, often compared to Mt. Fuji because of its perfect symmetry.

Day 17

At Sea

Day 18

Day 18 • Disembarkation in San Antonio, Chile (Arrives 6:00 AM)

After a morning disembarkation in San Antonio, head over to Santiago for a panoramic tour to see some of the city’s landmarks. Santiago is Chile’s largest city as well as its capital, and this sophisticated modern metropolis is full of outstanding sightseeing opportunities. (B)
