Day 3

Copenhagen, Denmark and Embarkation

Enjoy a city tour in the morning and visit the colorful Nyhavn canal district, the Amalienborg Palace Courtyard, and take a picture of the Little Mermaid Statue. Afterwards you will be transferred to the port, where you will board the Breakaway, your floating hotel for the next two weeks. (B)

Day 4

Gothenburg, Sweden (8am- 5:00pm)

This town has all the charm of a small village with its walkable streets and lovely harbor, but is surprisingly cosmopolitan, as the shopping streets of Kungsgatan and Fredsgatan will show. Head to Gotplatsen square, where a statue of Poseidon, god of the sea, stands guard near the town’s theatre, concert hall, and museum of art.

Day 5

At Sea

Today relax, unwind and enjoy the fabulous amenities aboard the Breakaway.

Day 6

Southampton, England (9:00 AM–8:00 PM)

Today’s port of call is Southampton, which is located on the southern coast of England at an inlet where the rivers Test, Itchen, and Hamble flow into the sea. The port is perhaps most prominently known as the origin point of RMS Titanic’s infamous maiden voyage to the New World. Archaeological finds suggest that the area has been inhabited since the Stone Age and was an important trade center over the centuries due to its strategic location on the English Channel and proximity to France and continental Europe. Artifacts in Southampton’s Old Town, including a long stretch of unbroken medieval defensive walling and the 800 year old Bargate, serve as a fascinating reminder of the city’s rich history. Join an optional excursion to Britain’s capital city of London with famous Big Ben and Buckingham Palace, home of the British Royal Family.

Day 7

At Sea

Today relax, unwind and enjoy the fabulous amenities aboard the Breakaway.

Day 8

Cork, Ireland (8:00 AM–5:00 PM)

Ireland's third largest city is a wonderful walking city built on the River Lee. Visit Blarney Castle, one of Ireland’s oldest and most historic castles. Explore and perhaps even climb the 125 steps of the spiral staircase, perhaps kiss the Blarney Stone, so you can, as tradition says, acquire the “Gift of the Gab.” Or join another shore excursion that lets you experience Ireland's beautiful scenery, charming towns, flavors, and musical tradition.

Day 9 & 10

At Sea

As the Breakaway leaves the Celtic Sea behind and sails south into the Atlantic Ocean, enjoy two days at sea and live the "Freestyle Cruising" lifestyle.

Day 11

Ponta Delgada, Azores (8:00 AM–5:00 PM)

Today we visit Ponta Delgada, the largest city in the Azores, a group of nine volcanic islands belonging to Portugal. Located in the mid-Atlantic Ocean, 930 miles west of the Portuguese capital of Lisbon, the Azores offer a mild climate along with miles of sandy beaches rimmed with vineyards and flower fields. Boasting many impressive churches, convents, and majestic white houses, visitors are constantly reminded of Ponta Delgada’s wealthy and illustrious past, when the port was a crucial staging post between Europe and the New World during the Age of Discovery in the 15th and 16th centuries.

Day 12-16

Transatlantic Crossing

Recreate the glory of past days as you sail across the Atlantic Ocean and relive the Golden Age of Trans-Oceanic travel.

Day 17

Disembarkation in New York, and Atlantic City

Today the Breakaway arrives in New York. After disembarkation, discover the Big Apple during an included panoramic tour of the major sights including the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, the Chrysler Building, Central Park, and many more. Then continue to Atlantic City, the entertainment capital of Jersey Shore. Visit one of the casinos, stroll along the beachfront, or enjoy a show.

✦The Claridge Hotel or similar

Day 18

Philadelphia and Washington D.C.

Continue to Philadelphia for a panoramic tour - see Independence National Historic Park, Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and more. Then travel through picturesque Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Overnight close to Washington D.C.

✦Marriott Falls Church or similar
