Wicklow Mountains
Travelers who make Ireland their vacation destination have plenty of historical monuments to see in the capital city of Dublin, but for those who want to savor the natural beauty of the European country, the Wicklow Mountains offer a panoramic view of a breathtaking landscape.

Visitors can explore the vast expanse of land in several different ways. They can take a walking tour of the area or, if they are feeling adventurous, a hiking excursion in one of the many mountains in this range. The highest peak is Mount Lugnaquilla, which stands more than 3,000 feet above the earth.

Tourists can also check out Wicklow Mountains National Park, which covers nearly 50,000 acres of land and is a great place to sit back and enjoy the serene countryside. Birdwatching opportunities are abundant, and guests may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the elusive Peregrine Falcon. Nature walks allow visitors to see the native flora and fauna, with wild orchids lining the path.

Wildlife that inhabits the area may be roaming around, giving vacationers the chance to see a red fox, mink, sika deer, hedgehogs and even various species of bats.
