For savvy mature travelers, it should go without saying that escorted vacations are the most affordable options when planning to see multiple destinations. Consider Ireland, where seniors can visit vibrant towns and their interesting attractions.

Dublin is an excellent place to start, as it is Ireland's capital and one of the top 30 cities in the world, according to the Globalization and World Cities Research Network. Take a stroll down its residential streets to see Georgian townhouses or stay downtown for a walk through the gardens. Important places to visit include the Dublin Castle and St. Patrick's Cathedral.

Next, stop in the town of Cork, which is located on an island between two channels of the river. Seniors can enjoy the panoramic views from many different bridges. One attraction not to miss here is the Blarney Castle, home to The Stone of Eloquence. Legend has it that if one kisses the "Blarney Stone," he or she will develop the gift of gab, that is, a persuasive way of speaking.

There are many other places to see in Ireland, such as the lakes of Killarney and the medieval fortresses of Limerick, and seniors should look for these stops on the itinerary when searching for a tour of the country.
