Coronavirus Update (June 22)
In response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the elevated travel restrictions, government advisements, and most importantly, to ensure the safety of our guests, YMT Vacations is extending our temporary suspension of global operations for travel through August 31, 2020.
YMT is committed to the health and safety of our travelers and team members. Know that we continue to monitor the situation closely and work with our global partners to determine what modifications and updates are needed to maintain a safe travel environment in accordance with U.S. and international travel advisements and policies. You can expect the same experienced staff and memorable tour experience on your next YMT Vacation.
Given these circumstances, YMT has introduced two programs designed to give you flexibility and confidence when considering your travel plans - the Peace of Mind Programs.
Peace of Mind Programs
For all suspended tours and tours departing through December 31, 2020 you can move forward with peace-of-mind knowing that you have flexibility with your travel decisions.
- Free Date Changes: You can move travel dates easily and without incurring cancellation fees or penalties*. You can change your land tour date anytime up to 30 days prior to departure and your cruise tour up to 95 days prior to departure. **
- Rebook at 2020 Prices: If you decide to move your date to a 2021 departure we will honor your 2020 pricing. ***
- Reduced Payment Deadlines: We are temporarily reducing our second deposit due date from 180 days to 120 days before travel, and final payments from 100 days to 90 days before travel for all cruises and tours.
*Deposits and final payments remain non-refundable. Cancellation penalties refer to applicable cancellation fees within final payment, provided in the form of a Future Travel Credit. Cancellation penalties exclude Oberammergau and all River Cruises. Air penalties and charges may apply. May be withdrawn at any time. Your Future Travel Credit reservation is set to expire 2 years from date of issue. The final value will be less any credits you may receive directly from our vendors. Cruise tour date changes are based on Cruise line policies.
**If your tour departed prior to August 31, 2020 and was suspended YMT will provide a Future Travel Credit for 100% of your cruise, river cruise, land and optional tour payments. This credit may be used on any future YMT Vacation. If you purchased air through YMT we will provide a future travel credit for the cost of the airfare less the applicable airline penalties. For select Alaska Cruise departure dates the Future Travel Credit may only be used on another YMT Vacations Holland America Cruise Line (HAL) Alaska cruise due to HAL policies. For select Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) departures the Future Travel Credit may only be used on another YMT Vacations NCL cruise due to NCL policies.
*** Seasonal pricing and eligible promotions for the new tour or cruise will apply. If you choose a tour or departure that is more expensive than the original, you are responsible for the difference in price; if the tour or departure is less expensive than the original, a Future Travel Credit will be issued for the difference. Please note however, you are responsible for any airline penalties imposed due to trip changes and/or cancellations.
Alaska 2020 Update (April 17)
Holland America Cruise Line (HAL) recently announced the cancellation of all 2020 Alaska Cruises on the Westerdam and Oosterdam. Due to this cancellation, we are suspending our July through September 2020 Alaska Cruise Tours.
YMT will waive fees and penalties and will automatically provide a future travel credit* for 100% of your cruise, land and optional tour payments credited to your YMT account. This credit may be used on any future YMT Vacation.** If you purchased air through YMT we will provide a future travel credit for airfare payments less any applicable airline penalties. You will receive an email statement reflecting your future travel credit amount within the next four weeks. Note: Allianz travel insurance may be transferable to a future travel date, your travel advisor will discuss these details when rebooking.
We regret this situation and we greatly appreciate your patience and understanding. Please note that we are experiencing high call volume and we will do our best to respond in a timely manner.

Oberammergau Passion Play 2020 Update (May 18)
The Passion Play’s organizing committee has announced that they will be suspending the plays 2020 production until 2022 in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and recent further restrictions by the Bavarian and German governments. We’re sure this news comes as a disappointment to you, as it most certainly does to us.
In light of this development, please know that:
- For 2022, we plan to offer both the Oberammergau & The Sound of Music and the Oberammergau & Best of Italy tours, with departures May through September.
- We are currently working with our partners in Oberammergau to finalize our 2022 dates and itineraries.
- We will have additional information shortly and will be in touch as soon as we have confirmation.
We know that you have been planning – perhaps even for years – to attend this historic event, and that you’re anxious to learn more. Please bear with us as we finalize our plans, and begin reaching out to you and our many other impacted guests. We appreciate your patience as we work through this unprecedented situation.

Some governments and cruise lines have implemented restrictions that limit the arrival of travelers who have traveled from/visited or transited through countries impacted by the Coronavirus.
