Welcome to Madrid, where your trip of a lifetime begins! If you purchased airline tickets through YMT Vacations, a friendly representative will welcome you at the airport and transport you to the hotel. Enjoy the evening at your leisure. Later, join us for a welcome dinner at the hotel. Get acquainted with your fellow travelers and learn about the exciting days ahead.

Madrid

Today, we will take you on a panoramic tour of Madrid that includes photo stops at many of the city’s most historic and iconic sights. See Plaza de España, Plaza de Colon and Plaza de la Independencia, as well as Plaza Mayor, Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas, and Retiro Park, plus the upscale Salamanca neighborhood. The evening will be at your leisure to enjoy a delicious meal and the many museums, cafes and pristine parks of this cultural hotspot.

Madrid to Seville via Cordoba

On the way from Madrid to Seville, travel to Córdoba in the history-rich region of Andalusia. Enjoy a walking tour of Córdoba’s Jewish quarter, Calleja de las Flores, or flower street, and La Mezquita, an eighth century mosque turned into a Catholic Cathedral. Tour the breathtaking Mosque Cathedral, known as one of Europe’s greatest works of Islamic architecture. You will be entranced by the detailed Moorish archways that line the prayer hall made of rich jasper, onyx, and marble.

Seville

Meet your guide in the charming city of Seville this morning! Granada

This morning you’ll take a scenic drive from Seville to Granada, where you will enjoy a walking tour. See Granada’s Royal Chapel, the old silk market, and Corral de Carbón, as well as the picturesque Plaza Bib-Rambla, a gorgeous city square that buzzes with energy. If you wish to reserve tickets to the famous Alhambra complex in Granada, you will have free time in the mid to late afternoon to visit (please make sure to book in advance, and check with us for exact timings). In the evening, enjoy a delicious meal at your hotel in Granada.

Alicante & Valencia

Take a scenic journey to Valencia, with a lovely stop in Alicante for lunch on your own. Alicante is a perfect little beach town, and its fresh seafood is not to be missed. Look up to Mount Benacantil to see the sand-colored remains of Santa Bárbara Castle, the imposing fortress that protected Alicante in the ninth century. Spend the evening in Valencia, where you can relax or find an outdoor cafe that serves paella right here in the town where the famous dish was created!

Day 9

Valencia to Barcelona

Start your day with breakfast and a tour of Valencia. This former Roman colony is one of the most popular vacation destinations in Spain due to its appealing combination of culture and history. Your panoramic tour includes Plaza de Toros, Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, and the L’Oceanogràfic aquarium. Take a walking tour of Old Town, and of the towering Cathedral of Valencia. Continue to Barcelona, your home for the next two nights.

Barcelona

Today, you’ll explore Barcelona. The seaside city boasts eight UNESCO World Heritage sites, fabulous food, and terrific shopping. Take a city tour where you will see Montjuic, Sagrada Familia (entrance included), and Passeig De Gracia, a major avenue lined with buildings designed by the famous Antoni Gaudí. You’ll also visit Port Olympic and the Arc de Triomf. Your night ends with a farewell dinner.

Can I arrange pre- or post-tour accommodations to extend my trip?

Please ask your YMT Sales Consultant to check availability.

Can this tour accommodate triples?

Yes, triples are permitted (depending on availability). If available, third bed may be a rollaway or a sofa bed.

I’m booking my own flights for this tour, what time should I arrive and depart?

You should arrive in Madrid no later than 3pm. The tour ends in Barcelona, where your flight should depart no earlier than 8am.

Will I need any visas or travel permits for this tour?

No, not at this time.

Can I visit La Alhambra on this tour?

Although the Alhambra, one of the most desired attractions in Granada, is not included due to booking difficulties, you will have plenty of time after the city tour to visit on your own! Its highly recommended to book tickets in advance to avoid long queues. Tickets can be purchased on their official website: https://www.alhambra-patronato.es

Does YMT have any limits for luggage?

The YMT luggage allowance is one suitcase and one small bag per person, in addition to a small handbag or personal item. Due to capacity limits on vehicles, the standard maximum weight per suitcase is 50 pounds. The maximum size for a suitcase is 62 linear inches (sum of length, width, and depth). For example, suitcase cannot be larger than 30 inches by 20 inches by 12 inches. Luggage that is larger or heavier may attract extra fees, might not fit on the motor coach and may need to be shipped home.

The small bag cannot be larger than 12 inches by 11 inches by 6 inches and must fit in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front of you. To comply with safety regulations for motor coaches, mid-size buses, and vans, wheeled carry-on bags are not accepted as your small bag.  View our helpful packing guide here!

Discover Cadiz, a city full of life and history, along with Jerez de la Frontera! Travel along the enchanting Costa de la Luz as you make your way to the city of Cadiz. Enjoy a panoramic walking tour of Cadiz, for a comprehensive view of this historic city. Start with a walking tour of the old town. In the first part of your Cadiz tour, you will discover the Phoenician origins of the city. Enjoy lunch in Cadiz, then depart for Jerez de la Frontera, a city renowned for its equestrian culture and sherry wine production. Visit one of the historic and traditional wine cellars, where you’ll delve into the history of Jerez wines and brandies. Meet a knowledgeable winemaker who will guide you through the vineyard and the wooden barrels in the cellars. Experience a unique wine tasting session during your visit.
