Arrive in Santiago, the capital of and largest city in Chile. If you have purchased your airline tickets from YMT Vacations, you will be welcomed by a YMT representative and transferred to your hotel. This evening meet your fellow travelers and enjoy an included welcome dinner. (D)

Enjoy a half-day morning sightseeing tour to see some of the city's landmarks, including the San Francisco Church, the oldest monument of the country and La Moneda Palace, originally constructed to house the Mint of the Spanish Crown during the 18th century. Then stop at San Cristobal Hill where the famous Virgin Mary statue overlooks the city. (B)

After breakfast, we make our way to Viña del Mar, known as the "Garden City" for its vast amount of parks and gardens, for a panoramic tour. In the early afternoon, arrive in Valparaiso where you will board the Norwegian Sun, your floating hotel for the next two weeks. (B)

The quaint harbor town of Coquimbo was once the center of Chile's thriving gold and copper industry.

Immerse yourself in a cultural experience as you visit the Moche Valley and learn about the people that inhabited the region.

Daylight Transit of the Panama Canal

Linking the Atlantic Ocean to the Paci c Ocean, the Panama Canal provides one of cruising's most unforgettable experiences. After over 10 years in the making, the canal was finally completed in 1914.

Day 17

Cartagena, Colombia (10:00 AM–6:00 PM)

Cartagena is full of history and charm. For example, from La Popa Monastery, you have a panoramic view of the city and harbor. You can enjoy the artisan center of Las Bovedas (The Dungeons), Plaza Bolivar, the Palace of Inquisition, and the Church of San Pedro Claver.
