Depart for Athens

Your adventure begins as you depart on your overnight transatlantic flight.

Day 2

Arrive in Athens, Greece

If you purchased airline tickets from YMT, a representative will meet you at the airport and transport you to the hotel. This evening, you’ll meet your fellow travelers and learn about the exciting days ahead over a welcome dinner (included).

Day 3

Athens

Enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of Athens. You’ll see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and Hadrian’s Arch, as well as the Parliament, the monument of the Unknown Soldier, and Constitution Square. You’ll then discover the most famous site in Athens—the Acropolis. At the top, see the stunning 2,500 year old Parthenon Temple which was built to honor the goddess Athena. Finally, you will visit the new Acropolis Museum. The afternoon is free for you to explore on your own.

Day 4

Embarkation at Piraeus (DEPARTS 5 PM)

After a morning at leisure, your private coach will transfer you to the port of Piraeus, and you’ll board the Norwegian Pearl to begin your cruise. Get settled into your cabin ahead of an evening departure.

Santorini, Greece (7 AM - 6 PM (TENDER PORT))

Famous for the vista of its whitewashed houses of Fira, perched on the side of the caldera, Santorini is one of the most photographed Greek Islands. On the southern side of the island, the resorts of Kamari and Perissa are well known for their black volcanic sand. Santorini is also renowned for producing some of the best wines in Greece.

Olympia (Katakolon), Greece (9 AM - 7 PM)

Surrounded by verdant hills and rivers, Olympia offers a perfect mix of natural beauty, history and culture. The birthplace of the Olympic Games, this is where you’ll find the Temple of Zeus, and the ancient stadium with athletic training areas. Visit the Archaeological Museum of Olympia for deeper insights into the region’s history.

Corfu, Greece (7 AM - 5 PM)

This lush Greek isle in the Ionian Sea is straight out of a picture postcard. Think dramatic blue waters, rocky crags jutting into the sea, and quaint hillside villages. Discover secluded coves and sunny beaches, and savor delightful Greek food at the many cafes overlooking the sea.

Kotor, Montenegro (7:30 AM - 6 PM (TENDER PORT))

The picturesque town of Kotor is nestled amid rugged mountains and the Adriatic Sea. Surrounded by 65-foot high walls, the city has a history that dates back to the ninth century. Stroll the labyrinth of cobbled streets with cozy cafes and craft shops of this UNESCO-listed destination.

Day 9

Split, Croatia (7 AM - 5 PM)

Split, perched on the Adriatic Coast, has a rich past, and the Diocletian’s Palace is the best place to learn more about the town’s history. Enclosed within four ornate gates, this colossal Roman complex is more than just an erstwhile palace: it’s also where the past and present meet in this seaside town. Stroll along the meandering alleys lined with cafes, shops and bars and soak up its infectious energy.

Day 10

Koper, Slovenia (8 AM - 7 PM)

This port city in Slovenia boasts a colorful history, and a walk around the Old Town is the best way to get insights into Koper’s past. See Venetian-inspired monuments, shop for handicrafts, and enjoy fine wine and local cuisine.

Day 11

Venice (Ravenna) (DISEMBARK 8 AM)

You’ll disembark in Venice (Ravenna) and be transferred to Bologna this morning. Best known for its culinary tradition, Bologna has an impressive history and is home to one of the world’s oldest universities, founded in 1088 AD. You’ll have some free time for lunch on your own here before proceeding to Florence. Enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure in Florence.

Florence, Italy

Join us on an included guided tour of Florence this morning. Marvel at the city’s stunning Renaissance architecture as you see its many highlights. Enjoy lunch on your own in Florence, and then transfer to Rome. Settle in at your hotel and join us for a farewell dinner.

These Inside Staterooms are the most affordable way to cruise. There’s room for up to four guests and they include two lower beds that convert into a queen-size bed and of course, you’ll have room service and many other amenities.

Porthole Cabin

A Sailaway Oceanview stateroom guarantees an Oceanview stateroom or better! Please note that the view may be fully obstructed, partially obstructed, porthole or picture window. Your stateroom may be on any deck and assigned up to one day prior to embarkation.

Can I arrange pre- or post-tour accommodations to extend my trip?

Please ask your YMT Sales Consultant to check availability.

Can this tour accommodate triples?

Yes, triples are permitted (depending on availability).

I’m booking my own flights for this tour, what time should I arrive and depart?

You should arrive in Athens no later than 3pm. At the end of the tour, your flight home from Rome should depart no earlier than 8am.

Will I need any visas or travel permits for this tour?

No, not at this time.

Will this cruise have a YMT Cruise Host?

Yes, this cruise tour will have a YMT cruise host on board the ship to assist guests.

Does YMT have any limits for luggage?

The YMT luggage allowance is one suitcase and one small bag per person, in addition to a small handbag or personal item. Due to capacity limits on vehicles, the standard maximum weight per suitcase is 50 pounds. The maximum size for a suitcase is 62 linear inches (sum of length, width, and depth). For example, suitcase cannot be larger than 30 inches by 20 inches by 12 inches. Luggage that is larger or heavier may attract extra fees, might not fit on the motor coach and may need to be shipped home.

The small bag cannot be larger than 12 inches by 11 inches by 6 inches and must fit in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front of you. To comply with safety regulations for motor coaches, mid-size buses, and vans, wheeled carry-on bags are not accepted as your small bag.  View our helpful packing guide here!
