Depart for Athens

Your adventure begins as you depart on your overnight transatlantic flight.

Arrive in Athens, Greece

If you purchased airline tickets from YMT, a representative will meet you at the airport and transport you to the hotel. This evening, you’ll meet your fellow travelers and learn about the exciting days ahead over a welcome dinner (included).

Athens

Enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of Athens. You’ll see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and Hadrian’s Arch, as well as the Parliament, the monument of the Unknown Soldier, and Constitution Square. You’ll then discover the most famous site in Athens—the Acropolis. At the top, see the stunning 2,500 year old Parthenon Temple which was built to honor the goddess Athena. Finally, you will visit the new Acropolis Museum. The afternoon is free for you to explore on your own.

Embarkation at Piraeus (DEPARTS 8 PM)

After a morning at leisure, your private coach will transfer you to the port of Piraeus, and you’ll board the Norwegian Pearl to begin your cruise. Get settled into your cabin ahead of an evening departure.

Visit the Archaeological Museum of Olympia for deeper insights into the region’s history.

Zadar, Croatia (11 AM - 8 PM)

Zadar is a historic coastal city on Croatia’s Adriatic coast, known for its Roman ruins, medieval churches, and breathtaking sunsets. Zadar combines rich cultural heritage with modern attractions, lively cafes, and nearby islands.

You’ll have some free time for lunch on your own here before proceeding to Florence. Enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure in Florence.

FAQs

Can I arrange pre- or post-tour accommodations to extend my trip?

Unfortunately, additional nights are not available from YMT Vacations for this tour. Your YMT Sales Consultant will confirm the specific hotel related to your departure date, and you can then contact the hotel directly to arrange an extended stay.
Can this tour accommodate triples?

Yes, triples are permitted (depending on availability).
I’m booking my own flights for this tour, what time should I arrive and depart?

You should arrive in Athens no later than 3pm. At the end of the tour, your flight home from Rome should depart no earlier than 8am.
Will I need any visas or travel permits for this tour?

No, not at this time.
Will this cruise have a YMT Cruise Host?

Yes, this cruise tour will have a YMT cruise host on board the ship to assist guests.
Does YMT have any limits for luggage?

The YMT luggage allowance is one suitcase and one small bag per person, in addition to a small handbag or personal item. Due to capacity limits on vehicles, the standard maximum weight per suitcase is 50 pounds. The maximum size for a suitcase is 62 linear inches (sum of length, width, and depth). For example, suitcase cannot be larger than 30 inches by 20 inches by 12 inches. Luggage that is larger or heavier may attract extra fees, might not fit on the motor coach and may need to be shipped home.

The small bag cannot be larger than 12 inches by 11 inches by 6 inches and must fit in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front of you. To comply with safety regulations for motor coaches, mid-size buses, and vans, wheeled carry-on bags are not accepted as your small bag.  View our helpful packing guide here!

Ostia Antica Tour with Dinner

Experience the majesty of ancient Rome on this historic tour. After picking you up from your hotel, your coach will bring you to the ruins of Ostia Antica on the mouth of the River Tiber, once a busy port city of the Roman Empire. After the tour, enjoy a delicious 3 course dinner at a restaurant nearby the ruins before returning to the hotel.

  • Guided exploration of the Ostia Antica ruins
  • 3-course meal including water, and a choice of a glass of wine or a soft drink

Note: This tour requires moderate walking and standing for long periods of time, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Terrain is mostly flat and even but may require walking some stairs in amphitheater. There is one step going into the restaurant entrance, two to access each room of the restaurant, and two to reach the toilets.

Zafiro Experience with Dinner and Greek Folk Dance Show

Enjoy an evening of dinner and dancing at Zafiros! Nestled in the hills of Attiko Alsos, enjoy a stunning panoramic view of Athens by night. Then get settled in as traditional Greek dancers go through the steps of the “zeibekiko” and the more intense “kalamatiano,” accompanied by live music. Don’t forget to partake in the traditional Greek “Zorba” dance with your fellow travelers! During this interactive dancing and music experience, enjoy a full buffet of Greek dishes, including Greek Salad, spinach pie, and a variety of meat, fish, and vegetarian options.
