Autumn Leaves Tour

Introduction

Imagine traveling through the heart of America’s history while witnessing the kaleidoscopic spectacle of fall colors in the Northeastern United States.  Our 14-day Autumn Leaves Tour takes you from Philadelphia to Gettysburg, Niagara Falls, along the shores of Lake Ontario, through the Adirondacks, the Green & White Mountains, Boston, Cape Cod, Bridgeport, New York City and back into Philadelphia against a backdrop of the rich colors of fall.

Our tour begins where our nation began, in historic Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - the cradle of American liberty, where you will see Independence National Historic Park, the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and Franklin Court.  Next you will travel through the colorful fall scenery of picturesque Pennsylvania Dutch Country stopping at an Amish outpost to learn about this traditional way of life before visiting historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania - the most important battlefield of the Civil War.  You then continue north through Pennsylvania and New York State, stopping at the Corning Museum of Glass which showcases spectacular pieces of glass art and conducts demonstrations of glass blowing.

You will need to bring your passport on this tour as you will cross the Canadian border to the awe-inspiring Niagara Falls where millions of gallons of water spew over the horseshoe-shaped falls creating a powerful sight and sound.  The tour continues along the shores of Lake Ontario to Kingston, home to Ft. Henry and the Royal Military College of Canada.  Then we take to the water on an included 2.5 hour boat cruise through the 1000 Islands enjoying a fascinating narrative of the area’s history and views of the fabulous summer homes of the rich and famous including Boldt Castle.

Our tour then crosses back into the U.S. and travels through the colorful fall foliage of the beautiful Adirondacks with a stop at Lake Placid, site of the famous “Miracle on Ice” when the US men’s hockey team defeated the Russians in the 1990 Olympic Winter Games.  We then journey through the breathtaking Green and White Mountains stopping to visit Franconia Notch State Park and the magnificent Flume Gorge.  Turning south, the tour heads into Boston, Massachusetts and where you will enjoy a city tour including following the Freedom Trail, seeing the Boston Common and the Paul Revere House.  Next you follow the New England coastline to Cape Cod and visit the Cape Cod National Seashore with its pristine beaches, lighthouses and wild cranberry bogs.  There you will have the chance to join fellow travelers for an optional tour to Martha’s Vineyard before heading into Rhode Island for a visit to one of the famous Newport Mansions. Finally, you will discover the “Big Apple” - New York City, with sightseeing including the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, the Chrysler Building and Central Park before continuing to Philadelphia to depart for home full of memories of a lifetime.

Canadian Rockies Tour

Introduction

Straddling the Continental Divide is a swath of the Canadian Rockies that is home to three of the world’s most picturesque mountain landscapes.  On our 14-day Canadian Rockies Tour, you will create everlasting memories as you enjoy a scenic drive past snow-capped mountains in a landscape so pristine it will take your breath away.

Our tour begins in Seattle, Washington with the evening at leisure to simply relax at your hotel or perhaps take the Light Rail downtown to visit Pike Place Market or the Space Needle.  The next morning, start with a scenic drive through the lush forestlands of the Pacific Northwest to the Columbia River Plateau with included sightseeing of the impressive Grand Coulee Dam and nearby Dry Falls.  We continue to travel east into the “Big Sky Country” of Montana passing by the beautiful lakeside communities of Couer d’Alene and Flat Head Lakes.  You will discover pristine forests, alpine meadows, rugged mountains and spectacular lakes as we drive through Glacier National Park in the US and Waterton Lakes National Park in Canada.

Your mountain journey then takes you along Highway 93 through stunning Kootenay National Park, crossing the Continental Divide by Radium Hot Springs and continuing north visiting Bow Falls and Lake Louise in Banff National Park. You will travel along the Icefields Parkway, stopping along the way to experience an included ride aboard a specially designed “snow cat” vehicle onto the massive Athabasca Glacier.  Then, visit the small resort town of Jasper in fabulous Jasper National Park which is the largest of Canada’s Rocky Mountain Parks. Within its boundaries there are an abundance of elk, big horn sheep, grizzly bears, mountain lions and wolves making it one of the great protected ecosystems remaining in the Rocky Mountains.

Our tour of Canada’s great national parks continues with a visit to Yoho National Park witnessing its rock walls, waterfalls, snow-topped mountain peaks and silent forests. We then travel through Salmon Arm and into the Lake Okanagan Region called the “Napa of the North” because of its many wineries and delicious wines. The trip nears its end as you enjoy traveling scenic Highway 99 into the Coast Mountain range reaching Whistler, the Olympic mountain resort with European flair. You can visit Olympic Plaza where the medals ceremonies for skiing, bobsled and luge events of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games took place learn about the local Aboriginal culture at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Center or simply stroll the village. Your two-week Canadian adventure wraps up in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia with plenty of leisure time to explore the city or take an optional excursion via ferry to Victoria’s Butchart Gardens, before traveling back to Seattle to depart for home.

Greece & Her Islands and Bella Italia Tour

Introduction

Spend an unforgettable 19 days exploring Greece and Italy, at the heart of the Mediterranean, two countries who’s history have shaped the world we live in today. In Greece visit Athens, host city for the 2004 Olympics, and see the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the original Olympic stadium before travelling across the Aegean Sea to the iconic and stunning islands of Mykonos and Santorini.  Famous for their white box houses, blue domed roofs, churches and windmills, you’ll spend 2 nights on each island, which is plenty of time to soak up the ‘island life’ atmosphere. Separated from Greece by the Adriatic Sea, discover the romance of Italy.  See the Eternal City, Rome, and the Vatican, Colosseum, Spanish Steps, and Trevi Fountain. Explore the picturesque beauty of the Tuscan and Umbrian countryside along with Florence, Pisa and Venice, where highlights include the Ponte Vecchio, the Leaning Tower, the Grand Canal and St. Mark's Square. There’s also Verona, best known as Shakespeare’s setting for Romeo and Juliet, and the city of Milan. Over all an amazing opportunity to see and experience two unique countries where you will find over 2,500 years of history and culture.

America’s National Park System is the envy of the world, and on our 14-day National Parks of the Golden West Tour, experience its magnificence when you visit 9 different US National Parks.  Most people only get to see one or two of these parks in their lifetime; seeing so many of them on one tour makes it an exceptional opportunity.

Our tour begins with your arrival in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada with leisure time to enjoy the endless entertainment opportunities. Take a chance at a card game or one-armed bandit, visit a show or simply relax at your hotel. Then the tour is off to see Natural Wonders and it is only befitting to start with a bang: one of the seven Natural Wonders of the world- the majestic Grand Canyon National Park. Enjoy an overnight stay inside the park giving you the opportunity to witness this awe-inspiring landscape both at sunset and sunrise.  Next, discover the sacred Monument Valley  Navajo Tribal Park the Navajo Nation’s equivalent to a national park.  Travel west to visit Zion National Park with its massive sandstone cliffs of cream, pink and red en route to the astonishingly red glowing Bryce Canyon National Park showing off it’s intricate limestone rock formations created by erosion called “hoodoos."  The journey then heads northeast through picturesque Capitol Reef, Arches and Canyonlands National Parks enjoying the stunning vistas of naturally formed sandstone cliffs, arches, canyons, domes and bridges throughout.

Headed west, we travel into Utah’s capitol, Salt Lake City  and see the lake that gives this city its name, the largest salt water lake in the Western Hemisphere, the unique Great Salt Lake. with it’s nearby The Bonneville Salt Flats, famous as a site for land speed records. Majestic Lake Tahoe awaits with 72 miles of pristine shorelines making it the largest alpine lake in North America. From here it is on to California and another jewel in the National Park system: Yosemite National Park. Witness its extraordinary landscapes of granite cliffs, plunging waterfalls, towering trees, pristine streams and abundant wildlife.  Continue through the jointly managed Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks and view the famed ancient giant redwoods, some of which tower over 300 feet. Weather permitting, we travel through Death Valley National Park, the lowest point of elevation in North America on the way back into Las Vegas to depart for home full of memories to share for a lifetime.

Ultimate Hawaii Tour with Pearl Harbor Experience

Introduction

Our 13-day, four-island Ultimate Hawaii Tour with Pearl Harbor Experience is packed with value and amazing sights and experiences. You’ll visit all four main islands, Oahu, Kauai, Maui and Hawaii (also known as “The Big Island”) to discover their unique features and enjoy included sightseeing and events on each of them, while carefully guided by one of our experienced local Tour Directors.

With an extensive Pearl Harbor experience, our tour includes a full day to learn about the events that brought the USA into WWII and ultimately the events that brought the war to a close. Visit the USS Arizona Memorial and explore the exhibit galleries at the Pearl Harbor visitor center, where you will also watch a short film. Continue to the battleship Missouri, where the Japanese signed the instrument of surrender to General Macarthur at the end of the War. And to close this day of historic insight and reflection, there will be a drive through the military Cemetery of the Pacific, situated in the Punchbowl Crater.

Also included on Oahu is our full day island tour where we’ll take you away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and show you more of this diverse landscape where some highlights will include the famous surfing beaches of the North Shore, the village of Haleiwa and the Dole Pineapple Plantation.

All your inter-island flights on Hawaiian Airlines are included and next stop after Oahu is the island of Kauai where you’ll witness stunning landscapes with every turn.  Have your camera ready to capture Opaekaa Falls; the Wailua River, during a leisurely boat cruise and the romantic Fern Grotto. The hanging ferns and tropical foliage will leave you speechless and you may even catch a glimpse of a wedding taking place.

The “Valley Isle,” known as Maui, is your next island to explore. We’ll take you to the quaint town old whaling town of Lahaina that will spoil you with art galleries and unique shops, a true delight to stroll around. You’ll stay in the resort of Kaanapali, which during the months of December to April is one of the best places in the world to spot migrating humpback whales, right from the beachfront.

Your last island-hop will take you to the “big island” of Hawaii, where you'll see the King Kamehameha Statue, visit Akatsuka Orchid Gardens and the Volcano Arts Center. On the final evening in Kona we invite you to join your fellow travelers and new found friends at the King Kamehameha’s Farewell Feast, a Hawaiian themed evening with dinner, entertainment and an open bar,  a fitting way to end this vacation of a lifetime.
