Standouts include the glass and brick Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall and the Medieval City’s half-timbered structures. Day 7

Olden, Norway (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM)

Welcome to Olden, your first port stop in Norway’s breathtaking fjord region! Olden is a charming village of 500 people on the shores of the sprawling Nordfjorden, and a quintessential example of the beauty of fjords. These long, narrow fingers of the ocean were formed over countless millenia by glacial movement. They may look like clear mountain lakes, but these narrow inlets are offshoots of the sea, slowlyformed canyons surrounded by steep cliffs and filled with ocean water, that jut deep into the Norwegian interior.

Day 8

Alesund, Norway (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM)

Known for its distinctive art nouveau architecture and stunning position at the entrance of the Geiranger Fjord, Alesund is one of this tour’s most memorable ports of call. Geiranger is one of Norways’ best-loved fjords, famous for the stunning Seven Sisters Falls, many of Norway’s steepest cliffs, and for inspiring the fictional kingdom of Arendelle, the setting of Frozen, Disney’s 2013 hit animated film.

Day 9

Haugesund, Norway (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM)

Known as Norway’s birthplace, Haugesund houses thousands of years of history, including Bronze Age burial mounds, a 10th century bear pit, and museums devoted to the Viking monarchs who used the scenic port as their ancient throne. Countless Norse legends are also rooted here. Enjoy Haugesund’s colorful present as well—there are numerous pier side restaurants, lovely local markets, and a terrific downtown district.
