Spend the day enjoying Boston, the epicenter of the Revolution and one of America’s most interesting and energetic cities. Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of many of Boston’s historic landmarks including the Paul Revere House and Boston Common. Break for a delicious lunch on your own at Quincy Market. Built in 1826, it is among the most famous places in Boston to grab a steaming bowl of chowda’ or a slice of Boston Cream Pie. Spend some time strolling the Freedom Trail or join us on an optional afternoon tour. (B)

Newport and Cape Cod
Newport, Rhode Island was the favorite summer playground of America’s most legendary tycoons and titans during the Gilded Age of the late 19th century. The Vanderbilts and Astors were among the wealthy families who summered in these opulent seaside “cottages.” Enjoy a Newport Mansion tour to start the day, then continue east to Cape Cod, known for its charming small towns, lighthouses, and wild cranberry bogs. Today is all about the glorious fall foliage colors! As we drive north across the border into Montreal, you will be inspired by the scenic drive through the Green Mountains. Explore Quebec City, one of North America’s first settlements. Old Quebec’s ramparts are Canada’s last remaining fortified city walls, with sections dating back to at least the 1690s. Enjoy a panoramic city tour of Old Quebec, where you will see the Château Frontenac and the Plains of Abraham. After time for lunch on your own, you’ll board the Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pearl(B).
At Sea
Charlottetown (1:00 PM - 8:00 PM)
Opulent clapboard villas lead the way toward Charlottetown’s beautiful Victoria Park. Color is everywhere—from the Victorian architecture to the red sandstone cliffs. We encourage you to really relish your time on stunning Prince Edward Island. Sample scrumptious homemade island jams such as strawberry rhubarb and wild blueberry, visit the Anne of Green Gables homestead to pay homage to Canada’s favorite slate-cracking redhead, and stroll the boardwalk.
Sydney, Nova Scotia(9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Located on Cape Breton Island, Sydney is surrounded by scenic beauty. Step back in time to 1744 by visiting the Fortress of Louisbourg as part of an optional shore excursion where you will learn about the vital relationship between France and the fledgling American Colonies.
Halifax (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Nova Scotia’s exquisitely preserved capital city was founded in 1749; go back in time with a visit to The Citadel to see the Old Town Clock. Waterfront warehouses known as the Historic Properties harken back to Halifax’s bygone days as a trading hub for privateer ships commissioned by governments to pillage, steal and burn merchant vessels.
Portland (11:00 AM - 8:00 PM)
Famous for its picture-perfect lighthouses, delightful historic district, world-class museums, and a thriving culinary and craft beer scene, Maine’s largest city is a definite contender for America’s coolest port town. The red brick buildings of the historic Old Port district house many of Portland’s best restaurants. Take a stroll along the waterfront to enjoy gorgeous views of Casco Bay, and ask anyone you see in bright orange overalls how the lobster pots are doing. Say hello to bigfoot and learn all about the Mongolian Death Worm at the International Cryptozoology Museum. Finally, Portland Headlight is always worth a stop. It’s Maine’s oldest operating lighthouse and one of our country’s prettiest.
Bar Harbor (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Bar Harbor has retained much of its charm from the glory days of the 1900s when it became a popular vacation destination for America’s richest and most powerful families. Look for Cadillac Mountain towering above the breathtaking forest and rugged shores of Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor’s next-door neighbor.
